If its just me alone I have never charged for ID-ing. If there is another ID, I check with them to see what they charge.

I remember when the tents and stat migrations came in and their used to be anywhere from 1-4 MID's working the room. I allways made it a point to ask everyone if they were charging and what their prices were so I would keep the 'market rate' and allow them to make a living too instead of ppl just waiting around until the ID who was doing it for free came available. I also passed off Migs to those working up the tree since they did the best xp. A big part of being an ID is courtesy, to customers and fellow ID's.

I have found that when you dont charge you make more than you would if you had a price list. In a game where greed and power players abound alot of my customers found it refreshing that I wasnt greedy so they gave me a greater tip. I have had the full extreme range of tips from 100 creds to one million (gotta love those rich armorsmiths!)

And its not like us ID's have any real overhead like crafters do. We require no resources or power or maintinace payments. Everything we make is pure profit.

Now that Migs are gone (thankfully) I rarely hang out in the tent anymore. If Im in a social mood Ill put my tag up and make myself searchable. What I do now to make credits isI am in a Entertainer group that performs at player events, and as part of our payment, I give out free ID's to anyone who asks, or if its a wedding I willID the bridal party and give out emotes ( /holo hearts is one I recommend for the bride and groom).

I've not tipped less than 30k for an ID session in months. I probably get one every 2 weeks too lol
