Thread: How Long to Master?
Depeding on how hardcore of a gamer you are and if you have flushing 2 or not. Get a friend with an AT-ST (or get your own), have the AT-ST attack a lair then wait for the pickets to aggro. Put a damage powerup on your gun and fire flushing 2 tell they are all dead. Lairs generally give 35-40k exp in 4-5 mins, somtimes the pickets will heal the lair and it will restart the pops.

The answer is 5 months.
Note: I'm lazy and have 4 other characters I play from time to time, but my Rifleman is my main character.
The obvious answer is "it depends".
-- Do you use pets?
-- Do you solo or group?
-- How many hours aday do you average?
If you average 3 hours a day (yes, that can be a lot) you should make it in less than 3 months. I made it in about 12 weeks without pets. With pets should cut that time by a lot. I soloed. I found that most groups were disorganized and stood around waiting for someone to go get trained, or return from the bathroom. So if it's speed you want, get a pet and go solo. I prefered Tatooine: Banthas (all kinds), Greater Mutant Womp Rats, Mountain Squill. Solo and without pets, I would average about 20K-30K per hour (and that includes all the secondary stuff like visiting the med center, getting buffs, buying weapons, etc., etc., etc.
And most important: If you do NOT have novice medic, get it and buy lots of good Stim B's. Then put a macro in your toolbars that heals yourself.
Let's give it a shot.
100 xp per 30 seconds for boxes 1 and 2 (so that's 200 a minute). That's (1000+5000 xp). Uh... do math to it or something. 6000 xp / 200 a minute = minutes for boxes 1 and 2. = 30 minutes
300 xp per minute for boxes 3, 4, and novice ID (Eye color). That's 10000 + 15000 + 10000. Math time. 35000 xp/ 300 a minute = minutes for boxes 3, 4 and novice ID = 117 minutes
2000 xp per 4 minutes for the rest. (Stat migration) - that's 500 a minute. That's 10000x4 + 20000x4 + 30000x4 +40000x4 = 400,000. HAHAHAH. I mean, that's terrible. 400,000/ 500 a minute = number of minutes. = 800 minutes
800 + 117 + 30 = 947 / 60 minutes in an hour = 16 hours.
16 hours is never going to happen. It takes a whole lot longer if you have to find victims and whatnot, or are taking turns practicing on another ID.
I'm currently grinding another MID (don't ask me why, I must either hate myself or love this profession too much to be healthy) on test center and now I have only 80 minutes left, yay! It occurred to me as I was working on my second to last box that I might do something else at the same time, so I picked up artisan.
At this rate I will be Architect 2,0,0,0 by the time I reach master. Now, if only I'd thought of this sooner... Grinding artisan is just as boring as grinding ID, but I found that if you combine two boring things into one macro-juggling click-fest then you can trick yourself into thinking you're having a good time.
At least until someone does the math for you and you realise how much of your time you're really wasting *smirks*.
Thank you Jessi

Hmmm... 16 hours sounds odd. I did it in under an hour but that was a long time ago. Pay someone to sit there while u change their eye color to the same color it already is.
it helps if you both have marcos going i might add.
I started out the night on TC with ID 4210. Hour and a half later of self-grind, it was mastered.
The real trick is to get Bodyform 2 as soon as possible; this is because the BODY window is always the first you see, and Muscle is the first slider you can unlock in that window. So it's just a matter of hotkey - click slider - return - repeat (or some sort of macro, but I felt like getting some carpal last night, so what the hell).
Make sure you have your blue buffs, either via an entertainer or some food/drink, and just camp at either the ID trainer by yourself or with a willing victim (to speed it up even more), or get a master ID to be your target practice to save on the dollars; it'll go wayyyy too fast for you to want to grind, stop, find a PC to give you training, go back to grinding, et cetera. Just save up on your creds and do it all in one go.
With the skill-cost down, and with the incredible ease it takes to master, expect to see quite a lot more IDs of varying skill levels around.
