Thread: Poll: Are you having fun IDing now?
Things I'd like to see changed/added:
The interface is of course a huge improvement, and after toying around with it, even at its current size i was quite able to make changes, type in the chat window and keep an eye on customer's comments.
The timer in my case is horrible. I am a mere 1/0/0/0 ID, so i have barely anything to offer (they love the holos tho), so even if I play around, we're done rather quickly.I still have many more colors to choose from then I ever had as a master prepatched lol so that's what I have been doing mostly - colors.
and as for holo's ... well I actualy hated them at first. Then I got a set for free after my twi'lek got pink markings, and i just started to play with them. Of course as an entertainer it might feel a bit more appropriate to have certain emotes active. I love the holonotes for example when playing music, or the imperial logo when I try to get people to sign up while dancing my hiney off. So although its not realy star warsy, it turned out to be a lot of fun. I mean we are trying to have fun while playing a game, right?
I give it a 7.5
*discreetly rates it a "?" since he's only been able to log in once since droids rebuilt was put in*
Does this mean I'm not a good IDer because I'm out of practice?
Speaking just as me, and only me, I give it a 9. It's wonderful and fun.
Speaking globally, from the point of view of people who have not mastered yet, I give it a 2. The casual player simply will not finish in "one month" as projected. Under the new system, I could never have mastered, because I don't have the time to grind a profession for 60 hours in a boring grind -and that's 60 hours of basically no income. Under the old system, in the days before spice, it took me 3 weeks to master, not playing casually.
I'd give it about an 8.5 or so. I've not been out to a ten yet, so I don't know how that would effect my opinion. As much as I had my doubts about the timer at first (and yet it's still annoying) I've found that about the only one it's effecting is me: as in IDing myself. As a Dance I tend to change makeup and hair styling fiarly regularly to match my dance and or outfit. In an RP sense it makes sense in that I now have to wait longer than 15 seconds after going to the dressing room.
But if I were in a troup situation and we were doing choreographed changes.....ouch that would hurt a whole lot.
As I've done no stat changes yet, I can't comment on those.
The timer is a horrid idea, one of the worst and only thrown on us to fix their own hologrinding problem they caused.
I love all the new colors. I would expect to see players with outlandish hair colors in the future. It also gives more each player an opportunity to individualize. I have had more fun with the color options than anything else.
I love the holoemotes. They are just plain fun and we could all use a little fun.
Wanted to add:
They really should have let the players still be able to change their own stats over time. Just given us the option to do it fast and I don't mean ten minutes fast...maybe five. But, taking away that option from the players was a very bad idea.
