I like how we're "not needed" anymore. Too many migration sessions, which would lead into showing a heap of alterations, where the person would say I just made such and such smaller when I didn't touch anything, to being asked if they needed to pay me for 20 minutes of work.... =P

Before stat migrations I used to have to hide my title when I would travel so I could hop two planets in under 45 minutes. I always had people sending /tells as soon as I'd log on for changes too.

You may not be needed by the people only interested in migrations, but you're still plenty needed by the people that you can have interesting conversations with.

I totally understand your frustration with working that far up ID during the Era of the Timers, and now people flying up ID in a few hours. But I also remember people boasting about Mastering ID in 40 minutes and somehow that making them better ID's than us and that the profession is stupid. You can just use the "Well ya see when I was learnin' IDin' the Empire had laws on us, we could only change so much so fast or we'd be arrested!"

Give a hollar if you're on sometime Seveu and want to finish up that last branch, Tobie' would be glad to help!

Thanks for the offer Tobie, but I'm waiting until the next publish to be sure I get my Master badge for the hours upon days of ID work I did. I tested out for my first time ID with no timers, I got 30k xp in around 5-6 minutes...

Oh well, bittersweet victory for IDs. We aren't hounded by gunbunnies, but we are the respec grind class. Oh well, oh well

I just think that the Devs need to do something to make us take a BIT longer to master...Give people a bit moreexperience(not thestat kind), learning all theways ID can be used,so they dont shout "M4ST3R 1D!1!1 !11 L00K LIEK MAUL OR AN1KAN!1111" possibly putting people off from seeing a real ID.

Did I mention how I love the word "gunbunnies"

Scarily, Seveu joined Vode Inya, the commando guild, and is slowly becoming a gunbunny! ahhh! help me!

I am so thankful the Image Designers no longer have a timer. I started this game as a Dancer, and Image Designer was something I always wanted to try. But we just get one character per server, and I just couldn't be everything I wanted to be in this game (I was a Master Dancer/M Tailor/Merchant for the longest time), and once timers were introduced I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I now have two characters, which makes my life much simpler, and I decided to drop one line of Dancer so I could be a Master ID and Master Tailor, which I find so much fun. The "unnecessary" professions are what make me play this game. I've tried both City of Heroes (which also has an amazing array of customizations, I might add) and Guild Wars-- but there is nothing fun about grinding for the sake of levelling a character. It just got boring. The crafting and entertainment professions are where my heart lies with this game, and I'm so hooked.

/agree with VenusRising

ID is the reason I planned on getting this game back in 2001 (Planned on a Wookiee Chef/ID named Hirsute......While my main character in UO was a GM Chef, Shepherd, Beggar, Musicianship, Bowyer, Taste ID)

ID is the reason I log in all the time, Dance and Music helped too =)

It's nice to know I'm not the only loon =D

Of all the places to find a fellow Commando. Gunbunny huh? Honestly though, Commando and ID are very very similar. Both contain people who become and stick with the profession because they love it, yet both are used by FOTM fanatics (ID for the respec and Commando for the FS grind).
