Thread: Art Team: What Image Designer Want :)
OMG, Kwee, your thread is exactly what I think should be the modifications to the Master ID class. These are all the questions, concerns, and issues I've been asked and given, and I fully support these changes.
Does anyone who has the power to advise these changes to the 'higher ups' check this board?
I'd rather not muddy the waters by making things more complicated than they need to be. Bringing crafting into the mix of what we can already do with the ID interface seems like unecessary work for the development team.
We can already do lipstick and eyeshadow. And folks seem fine withcoming to us for those changes. Now if we could get those slidebars we usereplaced with color charts we'll be golden. Additional content by way of expanding the number of colors that show up on those much needed color charts wouldgravy!
Additional game content being brought in through the system we're already using seems much more likely to happen. That's myopinion anyway. Let'sfix and improve what we already have to work with before we start asking for additional systemsto be created.
I certainly understand your concern. I suspect however that many of our bugs are code issues that need to be fixed by programmers, not the art team. A new look for our user interface would definitely have to involve anart team member and so I included it in my list. Though it may be that the programmers could make the existing char creation interface available to us. In the list I finally sent off I highlighted the things we considered most urgent in red, and that of course included all of our *possibly* art team related bugs. The non art team related ones will of course be passed on to the devs by Rilawyn.

Just being synical like always but SOE will do these changes LAST if at all, their primary concern is to make the little campy griefers happy as they destroy everyone elses experience (aka EQ). Combat is their priority not Merchants from what Ive seen. I mean since SWG came out Ive only seen 1 or 2 ID updates neither of which was any good.
You're forgetting something... A lot of this stuff is for the art department. And trust me when I say this, you don't want the art department fixing bugs or balancing classes. In fact, they don't have much to do besides new content and stuff like this.
FIrst of all Kwee, you're a legend!
When I was looking at what professions I wanted to play, it was all your wonderful info here and on other web site that encouraged me to consider Image Designer.
Being a 2 days old ID'er, I can't comment much except to say that all those ideas look great, but I'd like to see what's there currently working best first of all.
The sliders are totally unhelpful, and the thought of mucking up someones appearance due to a bug scares me a lot, especially as a newbie.
Just one thought I had, which may have been mentioned elsewhere - colourful hairdyes. Maybe to stop a flood of neon haired gusy running around trying to be cool, any 'unnatural' colours should have a limited life on them? So after say 3 days, they revert to their former colour?
Sorry, all my stuff seems programmer related, not art related.
Anyway, keep up the good work Kwee, hope the Dev and Art teams are listening.
image designers need to be able to give us sculped abs! guys and gals
