Yeah. I had the same thing the other day.'Hi Chiaa. Can you...blah blah' just as I was logging. I was about 1/2 hour late for something in RL, and really needed to get off. 'Sorry, I am already late so I need to log.' 'But Chiiiiiiaaaa. There aren't any other IDs on.' (How this person knew I was an ID when my novice pistoleer title was on is kinda bothersome) I felt like saying something rude but I didn't. Instead I said 'Try one of the other cities with an ID tent in it.' He says: 'I did. There isn't any one else.' *sigh*

I tend to put a different title on alot now.Especially when Iknow I want to log soon. I feel like an npc sometimes....like I am always supposed to bethere or in ID mode...I think I need a round circle with an 'I' above me head.

I don't think we have big egos, but we *do* have the right to say no.

Be careful what you wish for.. I'm sure there's a Dev somewhere that will read your post and say 'Hey! Round circle with an "I" would make a great Holoemote' and that will be our next patch.'

And most definately, certainly, and always, youhave the right to say no. At *any* time for *any* reason. Despite what people say, Grocery Stores, Malls, Department Stores, etc.don't HAVE to cater to you as an individual. They don't have to sell because you want to buy. There's no law that says Albertsons has to sell Bill Jones a sausage because they sell to everyone else.

Being an Image Designer doesn't make you'An_Image_and_Migration_Vender006.' It's a service profession. You provide a service people want for XXXX. If they want it, they buy it from you. Make their time pleasant enough, and they may come back. If the customer is rude to you, then youreally reallydon't need their business.

Image Design is actually GREAT for these situations. It costs you nothing to back out but your time. If a Tailor crafts a bunch of clothes for a customer, but then their customers begins to swear at them about the price the Tailor is in a bind. If the Tailor is rude back, there's a good chance those clothes won't be sold, and they'll take a loss.

Image Design can be backed out of at any time and never costs you anything. Sometimes I think that's why these guys come and rant about how we should use resources. It's because they want to feel like they're costing us something if we don't agree to a sale.

There's a lot of people that go around life thinking that they are entitled to a lot of things they are not. This is the crux of the problem. If you want to make a change about this then thenext time someone is rude to you, remember you don't have to take it. "/addignore <PERSON>" prevents more fights then it starts, woks instantly, and you can argue for hours with someone that thinks you are 'stealing' his free Stat Migrations.

/addignore may work instantly, but logging the defense-stacked combat alt only takes about two minutes and it's so much more satisfying.

Just_bri, I never planned on being a combatant either. In fact, I was content to sit in the med centers and heal people. But, the med centers emptied, I was broke, and I needed to make meds. So, I learned to hunt a bit to harvest meat and make a teeny bit of creds off baby missions. I got hooked. Never expected to like it so much.

Now I have 2 toons, my TKM/doc and my ID/tailor/miner. The ID tag is hidden and I am unsearchable, but I still use the toon to survey and make clothes. Then I send the TK out to have some fun and clear the way to drop the mines.

My point is this, if its broken, fix it. Try something new. You just never know what might surprise you. I know alot of people who hated the hologrind, but found something along the way they were amazed how much they unexpectedly liked.

Good luck to you,

I had done ID before, long before it got macroed into meaninglessness, so I knew that it was something I liked. The Hologrinders may have done their best to slay the profession, but it was the over-powerful buffs that let them do it. How many other games do you know that let you tripple or quadupleyour basic defining characteristics for extended periods of time? Really, it's just bad design.
