Thread: 50k for stat migrations?

I am a firm believer in 20k for a stat migration. Whenever I get the "Can you migrate my stats please?" tells, I always answer "Sure can. The fee for a stat migration is 20k". This way, we can argue it out prior to me stopping what I am currently doing, and come to their aid. If they don't like it, tough noogies. If they get annoying or rude about it, I have a healthy ignore list, that I am more than willing to make larger. I am more than willing to work for tips for anything else, but 10 mins of just staring at a screen, I had darn well better get paid, and paid well!

OMG yes, I HATE people who spam "Looking for stat migration, willing to pay." Of course you're gonna pay. Do I look like I'm going to sit there for 10 mins for free?

The worst part is when they're shouting this I can hear them from the tent - but they're not looking in the tent! So I figure that anyone that stupid is likely to be a problem customer anyway and I don't shout back

Well, I tried

Tonight there really were not a lot of ID's about and I was getting a lot of tells about stat migrations, so I decided to venture back into the tent and help this guy out.

And what happened when I told him it was 20k ?

"um no. I'm not paying that"

/shrug

He also had a master combat profession tag up

This is what I do too. Tell them the price before I ever meet them at the tent. Stat migrations are the only thing I have a set fee for too.

Yes indeed, tell them upfront and then let them decide if they want to pay or not.

I used to have a soft touch a times and would let people off a few credits but no more!

25k per migration. No more (although more is good), No less.

Although if they are wearing full comp i might try asking for a peice and see what they say!

And thats just funny.....he can make 30k in about 3 minutes....so basically he was saying that 3 minutes of his time is worth far more than 10 minutes of yours.

I hope you stood firm and didn't migrate him....I will let rates slide for obvious newbs or people who dont have a way to earn good income (i.e. main prof entertainers ), but theres no reason that someone who is obviously well off and able to earn a good living should attempt to deprive us of our professions only guaranteed income.

That's what I was going to say. *grin* I can make 30k in about 5 min as a Master Fencer doing solo grouping on Dantooine. Counting travel time and expenses, I can pull down about 200k in a buff cycle. I'll pay out 12-15k for buffs, bought all the armor. Of *course* I'll pay 20-50k for a migration. It's only a one time thing, unlike the buffs, armor and weapons.

I'm grinding back to MID; I miss it a lot. Fencing is a blast, but I'd rather by running around to parties and events giving makeovers.

I am on another server...Bloodfin, but i do stat migrates as well as all other ID services on a "tip" basis. I have to admit that on occasion I do run across people who tip me less than 10k (what I believe is the going rate for migrates on my server), I have been tipped up to 200k. I did test this and for a day asked for 10k, which everyone had due to the fact that I was IDing in Theed and most often times got paid exactly that or just above it (12-15k).Now, I have no idea why I am so lucky with letting people tip me what they think is fair for I do know quite a few ID's on my server who are broke. I just think that doing things this way gives me a far better sense of what kind of ppl I am dealing with especially since i have other accts in service professions on the same server.

Nope, I told him to move along

I used to be a master fencer, and I know how much some of these guys are pulling in but always astonished at how they whine about paying 20k for a stat migration

/sigh

I am just very disappointed -- after not doing stats for about a month and a half, I guess I was expecting that something had changed considering the lack of IDs around

If someone wants me to do any real ID work on them, I tell them to pay me what they think it's worth, but I won't do that with stat migrations for two reasons:

  1. I hate doing them, so if I do them at all, I better get payed, and payed well.

  2. I tried giving stat migrations for tips once, and my average pay for them was 500 credits (and no way is that worth my time).

Even so, I have only doubled my price since I made MID (going from 10k to 20k). I figure that is a fair price, and I have (and will in future) given true newbs and pure entertainers a break on the price. I figure that if someone isn't willing to pay 20k for a stat migration from me, they are perfectly free to try to find someone else who will do it for less. It has been my experience that people are more willing to pay (and pay well) for real ID work than for a stat migration. As I told one customer who though that 20k was too much, I'm charging them for the time. If a stat migration isn't worth 20k to them, that's ok, but my time is not worth less.

Now if they reduce the timer, I may drop my price, but no guarentees even then.

Okay, I have a website for Image Design. Well it started off as a personal IG website for me, but ive incoulded my imaging talents on it as well. I have price list set up there that I feel is more than fair.

Novice can charge /tip as you can basis if they like, but if we could get this price scheduled floating on all the galaxies, it would make ID as good of a profession as doctor in the money making business. As it is, it is about to break me ... im not bringing in anything .. and beleive you me, it takes a lot of money to look that good hehe.

Anyway, if you would like to adhere to the list that i have made on my website, pleaseshoot me an email IG to Tempest.laurnarose or Ahazi.yen .. or from the email link on the webby.

Now I know the price list seems horrid, but ... with the discounts available for just having them educate themselves by looking over their imaging optins from the webpage ... I mean come on ppl ... 50% off just to telling me you want Male Hairstyle 5 of color 6x12, in stead of ... well it kinda is short, you know which one i mean. and the color i want is um ... well kinda a blue, no, not that one, no, no, no, no, no ... wait, back a couple, no it was just there i swear. So, if it takes a doctor 2 minutes to do a complete buff, and it takes at least 5 minutes for a really good imaging session, how is our time any less important than theirs? Yes, they have to buy supplies ect, but we are stuck in a salon, we cant go anywhere we want, we only have like what is it 7 cities we can do stats in??? Not to mention the 10k they get paid for a buff ... the buff only lasts 3 hours, our stat migrations will last as long as the customer wants it to.

Also, this opens up an oportunity for the novice ID. PPL dont want to pay that much for a stat migration, then fine, either wait another 2 weeks to find someone willing to do it, or find someone who needs the XP. When masters offer SM's for free, it is basically slapping leveling id's in the face. they need the money, and the xp.

So just look over the price list and the services that YYIS offers, and if you would like to be affiliated with YYIS as an independant imaging consultant, please just contact me.

I ask for a "recommended tip" of 20k, and in most cases I get 20k or more. Sometimes less, but have all been people who cannot afford it so far (can be seen from ther badges).

im only 3000 atm (on bria) my usual fee for migrations is 10k, my fee for any other changes is whatever they feel like tipping, i tend to tell people my migration fee upfront and have on 2 occasionas extended credit to poeple who said they didnt hav enough to cover the cost of a migration at the time (the first one onyl had 4k which he paid me, and he later tipped me 8k via bank (yes 8k, the extra 2k was a tip as a thankyou for extending the credit), the second guy had just under 6k and never paid the rest, my solution is i'll never id him again, at any fee no matter how simple the work or how desperate he is (on a side note the first guy had bnee wearing full ubese, the second full composite with a master tag up, for osme strange reason the more money people get in this game the less kind they seem to become)
