My fee for the migration is always 50K. If they do not have that kind of credit and are respectful to me and I sense newbie, I will forego my fee. I do however stress the fact that they only get this one freebie or they can give me one IOU - most actually choose the latter.

Someone awhile back said that they charge Newbies the Maroj Melon that everyone starts with... so if someone claims to be a newbie, that's what I do. If they don't have that melon, they can't be all THAT new.

ahh but the catch, you can forage the Maroj Melons up with scout skill.

as a Tailor I say charge em the shirt off their back...no creator name on those..

or perhaps start a weapons wall in your home, taking their pristine starter weapon as your 'good deed' badge to hang up...

Ah but the problem with that is people sells those on the bazzar for real cheap or when you train a novice skill the helper droid gives you one for free. If your charging only 5k-10 people probably wont go through the trouble but for 50k they might.

Or a powergamer's new buffbot alt. Or a Jedi's unlocked character. Or... get the picture?

Sometimes, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a cow.

A lot of the times, it's a cow in composite. Melon or no melon.

Yeah he was in full composite. He was trying to get his armor on without being buffed. I told him that most likely that would not happen, he assured me it would.... rofl

One thing i did start doing on customers who don't tip me, or another id and i know about it, is play my little macro "feel free to tip what you can afford, but, a good rule of thumb is at least 2k per id minute. This haschanged a couple of 1k and 2k tips in my window to 8k...not great...but better than getting stiffed.

I try to remember that on the other side of the avatar is a real person. All I know about that person is they want to play SW:G just like I do and want to have a good time.

When there is a player that is getting on my nerves I consider what it is in myself that I cannot deal with and not put the onus on the other person. How do they know they are bothering me? How do I know they are understanding the situation as I am? Likely there isn't an answer to either question.

I made my first 1 million credits as being an ID, not even master. I never charged a single player, and told them each, "no charge". I don't make expectations of other players and most often they treat me well.

Luc'ina charges, fees arein her Bio and a macro /ttell list

15k Stat mig

5k Customization

and of course the 'reserve the right to change prices for any reasonI see fit'

This is because I actually do not fund Luc by Ani..
She is in all accounts Ani's Employee, but runs her own business.

I have a macro blurb about payment thru the ID window is only form I accept too,
explaining it not only is a way to avoid bank fee but it is the only way for me to see if the session was accepted

(mind use is hard to track compared to the you have been paid message)

and , yes, macros and bound hotkeys own me..I can't type well or fast , and don't care

stop looking at me

Heh... I would say the melon would be part of the whole package... which includes no (or very few and easy to get) Badges, bazaar crap armor (if any), non-guilded (if a newbie is in a guild, they don't need handouts)... and KNOW what the different starter outfits look like... not to mention that if they are Ithorian or Sullustian, chances are that they got the 75k creditbonus in their bank account for JtL.

The melon is much harder to fake than the clothes and weapon... and if someone goes to the trouble of making sure that their character fits every other aspect of a newbie, I am willing to take their melon in return for a stat migration... and make note of their name so they only get the one free.

I long ago acknowledged the fact that we are just as responsible for making sure we get paid as those who seek our services. Always keep the upper hand. After all, THEY need YOU.

Hmm, your idea is a good one. Usually, I let the customer tip me whatever they want (when they ask), with the same concept (that they must pay me something). After they accept the change and don't tip, I end it with a remark that makes them think. "Thanks for your generosity." That doesn't seem enough though, because some people I guess just don't understand.

ID is like tailor I guess. I will tell the customers about payment first before I do the deed.
