well i crossed my hologrinding friend yesterday night , but i had my macro ready by then. I launched my line:
"FREE Stat migration plus FREE all 16 holoemotes plus FREE image design session. PST"
i did laugh when he ran away. can't tell you what he said, he's on my ignore list.

No doubt that the ID hologrinders are a concern andcan be a problem, particularly in the ID tents if they are obnoxious. But if you're a high level ID or a master, there's no lack of work elsewhere while the moron is in the tent spamming for XPs. There's always the cantina in a large city, or I findthat just evenaroundtown I'm stopped so often that I can't even do such things as go to the bank or browse the bazaar terminals in peace without someone askingmeto ID them. I very often have to resort to removing my mastertitle from the screenif I don't want to bugged.
Hopefully this hologrinding will come to an end soonby having the requirements for Jedichanged. And with that, those of us who are mostly sticking to one or two professions should also be given an opportunity for Jedi as well.

Last night I was in the Theed Salon and a grinding ID was spamming every 10 seconds that he was doing all ID work for free. I don't need the money, but do charge for stat mig. (10k), and other ID's charge for all work. Many ID's use this as their main money maker. I was very polite to him and asked that if was going to advertise in the tent to please put longer pauses inbetween. He completely ignored me and 4 other ID's who requested this, didn't even respond with a no or anything. Finally I got tired of the spam and just put him on ignore, as did many of the customers in there. Customers stated they would rather deal with the other ID's who charge then to deal with one who just ignores people speaking to him even if he is giving free work.
On another note...
A few days ago an ID was spamming free work right next to a few other ID's who charge. I sent them a private message stating this does hurt other ID's who charge. They became very rude. If you would like to see the conversation please visit the thread "My Grrrr For the Day". In the end she ended up changing her macro to atleast say she was doing it for tips.

I've had a problem that's only slightly related...
First off, YES, I was a holo-grinder... Right up until I got to ID... Found that I liked it.
Post-9, I am going to stay where I am... maybe dropping the other stuff for tailor... but that's beside the point...
My problem is on Cnet, Sunrunner...
There's a MASTER ID, NOT grinding...
He does stat migration for free, because he feels that it is "not right to charge for what used to be free"
needless to say, I can't get my normal fee (15K)while he's in-country....
Any thoughts on this attitude?

Does he advertise it in spatial? I'm pretty lax on what I charge, but I've learned to put all my pricing discussion in groupchat or tell especially if I'm around another IDer. It's amazing how many people don't comparison shop if they have to do it over /tells.
As for his decision to do it, I can see the reasoning behind it. But if he's actively hurting your business with his presence there's always another tent.
