And what's the big deal with being important to the rest of the galaxy? Why do we have to have some functionality in the new expansion? I'd rather see more art than new abilities.

Because if we do not have a game critical function, we do not get further Dev time. I am pretty sure you can look into RS's posts here in our forum for an official stance on that. This is after all the whole reason we were given stat migration. If we don't have a "real reason to exist", then the Devs will have no futher content for us. Ever.
But then I wonderwhat kind of content that will be. Image Designer was originally intended as a non-critical profession and that's just fine with me. You're suggesting that unless we get game critical functions, we won't get other non-critical artwork. I doubt that. I think giving us necessary things to do won't amount to us being given new hairstyles or whatever other stuff. It is the artwork that most of us would like to see more of. At least, that's what I would want.

Ok. Point taken. Still I feel it is a sad thing but that's the way the world works I guess.

Good I remember discussions about this when I was ID the first time and wasn't sure if the idea was scrapped or if there were coding issues to be worked out. Thanks for putting me straight

I think you should be able to ID merchant vendors. Some of those ladies really need help and those guys need to lay off the McDonalds' Happy Meals
This is something that will be implimented when the Dev's get back around to our profession sometime next year. TH has stated that we would probably get some kind of "vendor package" selection choices. We won't every be able to give them individual feature-level modifications due to the amount of data thet would be required to maintain.
