Thread: Runesabre's questions, all ID's please voice your thoughts
I have an interesting question for you all.
Which do you change/repair more often - Hair or Clothes?

Forgive my ignorance but how does the proposed Disguise kits differ from Ranger's /conceal & camo kit?
For some reason, and I don't know why, it seems that many, many people are unaware of the existance of camo kits. I, personally, in 4 months of playing have only seen one used once…but from my understanding, it sounds like most people want disguise kits to 0 non-GCW faction, rather than actually hiding you from the NPCs. It also sounds like it would be a near-unbreakable mask, as opposed to the camo kits. So…I guess the biggest difference is that agressive NPCs would still attack with a disguise kit, where they wouldn't with a camo kit, and nonagressive-yet-hostile NPCs wouldn't attack with a disguise kit where they might with a camo kit. But I could have this all mixed up.

I am for hair / face maitnence, as long as it's low level entertainer.

And does gaining weight due to eating food really make sense? I mean, a player runs around all the time. Combat classes (especially the karate guys and the sword people) doa lot of physical activity, shouldnt all that food be burned off by an active player? Will physical activity be part of the formula when trying to decide weight gain?
Yes, physical activity would definately be calculated. If youhave a solid idea of how much food combat classes eat to survive, then you'll know what i'm saying. Yet, not ALL food will be burned off, especially when you eat so much of it.
Food is an extremely optional item. As i said, it should be clocked by the number of times the bar is full, not for each food you eat.
This formula would take a lot of calculation but I think voor has the jist of it.
1) ability to remove TEF, possibly in the form of a disguise kit or possibly requiring a face-to-face meeting with an ID. Alternative ideas are to reduce the timer for the TEF instead of removing it entirely and/or having a chance of failure and possibly making the TEF worse.
2) ability to reduce bad faction. This would not necessarily compete with smugglers, since they can only give you positive faction points. I'm talking about removing negative faction. And not just rebel/imp, but also swoop, jabba, corsec, whatever.
3) how about some kind of buff for entertainers? The entertainer profession is all about looking good. If you get a makeover from a Master ID, perhaps your Wound and Battle Fatigue Healing could be increased for an hour. Hopefully not to compete too much with bio-enhanced clothing, and maybe it should be only for Master ID, otherwise every entertainer can just buff themselves.
I thought it would be best to get the answer straight fromrangers Rangers, Image Designers need your help They gave some interesting answers.

1) Critical function. There are 2: Changing appearances and enhance abilities (personal training).
Going to a IDer should be fun. People go to an Image desginer tochange their appearance because they like to improve their appearences or want to have a fun look for a day. At the moment our content doesnt add to the fun part and the variety of options to change appearance is rather limited (nearly the same content as on character creation).
Except from frequent new hairdo's, new tattoos(colors), lekkustyles and colors etc new fun-content could be:
- Standard disguises( things like shabby look, race change, imperial officer-look, pirate-look)
- Facial paint (indian or miletary stripes)
- body paint
- extreme hair colors (or for Wookiees bodyhaircolors)
Image designers should be able to change appearance of notonly people but also vendors oras a temporary change of appearance of a pet by using pet-paint.
Image designingcould be functional and adding to the game in a way other professions can't. Like other professions in the entertainer tree Image designer could be used for mind and BF options or even stat migration:
- statmigration
- Massage buff (BF decreasing buff)
2) fitting with playstyle
Social contact is the primary way Imagedesigners work.
The ideal playstyle of ID is face to face (social contact). This should remain. Forcing people to IDing makes people resentful and might lead to less business. This should not be implemented.
Craftingas means for extra business: Only for those who want it
Crafting should be an option. But an image designer has tohave the optionnot to do that.
Craftables should be used for temporary changes or quick changes someone doesnt want to have the hassle of searching for a imagedesigner. So things like make-up (lipstick and eye-shadow).
Vendor changes: Image designer interface but buyable items for a merchant.
Image designers should be able to change the looks of a vendor the same as for a player. Change options should depend on both the skills of the image designer as the merchant. The merchant can accept the changes and is the one an image designer proposes the ID-party to.
It should also be possible to craft items for merchants (same way as for tailor) to change (facial)hair or make-up. Not all craftables should be for players as well (for instance wigs as they would take away business of an miagedesigner in a regular way).
