I am glad you can't change your sex/species. I am also glad that LA wont allow it to be considered. I would hate to have species of the month going on.

Not so much that, as I guess it breaks the mold/playstyle that they want for a Star Wars game.

If they added species changing, I would change to human in an instance.

Uh, I just DELETED that character! It doesn't exist anymore!
Sorry minor hijack. As long as you dont get on any friends lists or stuff like that you can delete a character and rename it same name. Have done so myself.

Know why Ssumidra (my MID on Bria)spells her name with 2 S's? I had created her as Sumidra, then realized that I had forgotten to give her the last name I had chosen for her and deleted her... only to run up against the "Existing Chracter of that name" bull when I tried to remake her. She was on no one's friend's list at the time. She had not existed for more than 5 minutes, yet I could not reuse the name I had chosen until I modified it. I have done some checking and, while there are the rare times when a name is freed up immediately, this is extremely rare. I have come across posts saying that it can take a month or more for the name of a deleted character to be purged from the data base. I don't know about you, but that is too long a time to have to wait before remaking a character as far as I am concerned. It should not matter if you are on anyone's friends list either, if a character is deleted, the name should be purged immediately.

It takes a week or two for a deleted character's name to clear from the system. That's why it's Tobie', because I rerolled twice shortly after creation and I didn't want Tobieee

now the valid concern is a vetern player that didn't have access to the current character designs/selections.

This shouldn't be allowed as a regular function of the game... but having a "one time" name/species/gender change would be a fair solution for those roleplayers who never wanted to have their mains be Jedi & have gotten royally screwed 3 times now due to the crappy revamp. Allowing the players to do this themselves would be fair...& having ID's be able to do it would be even better...

I had a strange thing happen to me. I created a new character and it didn't say the name was taken. But when I go to Mos Noob, I realized that my friend's list and e-mail was full!!!! I then got a tell from a complete stranger along the lines of, "Hey, welcome back. I thought you quit."
I was first going to play around as though I was the "real slim-shady", thenI figured that would be too evil. Then, I thought I would just delete all the mail and empty the friend's list and start over -- buta couple more tells within the next few mintues told me it wouldn't be so easy. So I ended up deleting the character (again?).
So, here is a question: What would you have done?

I would have bugged it instantly... Actually I've been hearing about this more and more these days... I think the devs really should have a look into this

This is a very old bug. Sometimes you will choose the same name that someone used to have& the game does not recognize that you are a different person when it comes to emails & friends lists etc. This usually isn't a major problem because you can just delete the emails & friends lists, & just tell people when you get a tell that it's not the same player... who knows, you may have some instant friends to network with though...
The real problem is when two players pick the same name at the same time & both get approved. Now both players will have the same problems as above, but also with tips etc.
