yea I can see kiting being a little concern, but I think it should be more realistic to the point where, if you're running around with a rifle you shouldn't be hitting much, you should be laying prone or kneeling ready to shoot and that shouldn't allow for much kiting. Plus I've never really run into much trouble with people kiting, I just click follow on my toolbar and it almost always closes the gap in those situation were it's been necessary, but I guess it depends on the speed difference, good point tho. As far as the platform, I heard they were problems but all problems can be resolved if they want to, I just hope this is one they take into consideration even though it may take considerable effort to resolve.

You're complaining because sometimes they get a lucky shot and hit you for 200 and you sometimes get an unlucky shot and hit them for only 200? Welcome to the world of the laser rifle. Sure, sometimes with my laser rifle I have an unlucky shot and only hit for about 167, but there's a chance that the next shot will be for 1167, on average it hits for over 500. Sounds fair to me.

Why do I have to be complaining? Why can't I just be stating something I would like to see in the game, this is what the boards are for aren't they Eaca? It seems you just like to argue, for you someone's got to be complaining or shouldn't be posting, If that's it just remove yourself from the conversation and let those who what to discuss civilly discuss.

Anyway yes I would like a longer range, because although my 200 shots are unlucky ones, the pistol shots are pretty consistent, but like I said before the post is not about that. The only valid point really was WayneInAustin and kiting issue, which could be addressed not by decreasing the current accuracy when running but maybe by slower running with the rifle out, but who knows I am of two minds on this subject, I would like a longer range because things can run up on top of you fairly quick when you're still but at the same token once they're on top of you your only option is to run and shoot or you're dead and I wouldn't want that hampered, I guess the best would be a more reliable way to stop aggressors in their tracks and keep them from getting on top of a rifleman at least.

The game can technically support longer than 64m ranges. But, the devs have said it doesn't work properly, by which I suspect they're referring to loading issues, as things further away than that may not be able to 'see' you until attacked, etc, for purposes of not sending data to/from client/server until within 'range'.

They've been pretty adamant that ranges will NOT be deliberately increased beyond 64m for weapons, and that the greater ranges sometimes available area bug. (T21 can shoot some things at 65, for instance... large targets give you a slight range increase, which, after all, is logical enough)

and yet.. no explanation for the fact that combat medics can RELIABLY throw poisons/diseases 80m +, and Large Turrets recently had their ranges increased from 70m to 80m.

tell me again how it's a technical issue?

Instead of every non-combat profession having a top-5 (or more) issue thread, maybe each month or so we should choose the issue that we would like most to be addressed, and along with the other professions make a "Top 5 Issues" list for the game as a whole. So, I ask, do you think this would help the Devs know what we would like better, or do you think it would merely be ignored. All comments welcome, so post away!

I think people should stick to letting the Cors do what they have volenteered to do for each individual proffession
