On Farstar, for ID services I just ask for tips.

To support the Empire and Imperial troops, I give free stat migrations.
Although, even once I tell them its free, most give very generous tips.
As I am in a non-combat profession, this is how I serve the cause.
To unguilded people, just tips. For Rebel based guilds, 10K.

If you are rude, no matter what faction, no stat migration at all.

No flames, but it makes business very hard for other image designers, you might want to consider it. If there is somebody doing it and possibly all of it for free, people might be inclined to wait for you to get online. If it is only a difference of a few thousand credits, they likelihood that they will do business with a resident image designer becomes somewhat greater.

As for prices, the 10k have become my usual rate for image designing as well. Personally I find the prices on the Lightstrider guide to be beyond the pale for something only using time. Devide most of the prices by 5 and I think a decent level is achieved.

And yes... I also rely partly on tips of better endowed clients. This has so far resulted in one tipif 369 000 crand two tips of 300 000 cr. Numerous between 10 000 and 50 000 credits depending on the wealth and satisfaction of the client.

To Luti0n, re: Enraged Rancor. I'm sure you've all seen my old value of time breakdowns. ERs are nice, but I think if I were to do stat migrations (which I still refuse to do, at all, ever) I'd have to up my estimated price—ERs: 280Kcr in 2 hours 55 minutes. Mokk Shamans: 450Kcr in 2 hours 55 minutes. I now have a new standard for what my time is worth! Woo! (Quick breakdown: 450Kcr - 3Kcr buffs - 0cr weapon decay - 2Kcr armor decay - 5Kcrish tickets - 1Kcr clone / 175 minutes = 2.5Kcr per minute, 25Kcr for 10 minutes, plus value of loot and surcharge for doing something unfun…so I'm thinking maybe 40Kcr now if anyone tries to press me—and that's a fair chunk of change on TestCenter )

Edit: side-note, I could bring the cost of armor decay down a fair bit if I used the heavier, more expensive armor—for those that don't know, decay to armor is directly proportional to the amount of damage inflicted through the armor, not the amount of damage absorbed by the armor as logic would dictate. Thus, 80% Kinetic composite decays far more slowly than 47% ultralight composite…but I'm too lazy to shuffle 5 suits of composite around between my two combat toons. Ammon can keep his light-but-weak armor and just deal with the decay.

Most of the universe's problems can be solved by the application of a brick to the side of the right head.
The problem is if you don't have a big enough brick or can't find the right head. The devil is in the details.

I play on Corbantis and charge a set fee of 10k for a stat migrate, but they get everything else they want thrown in for free with it. If I'm spending ten minutes with a customer I may as well DO something while I'm there. I used to charge 1k for a haircut/cosmetics and 2k for anything that included an eye colour change, but these days I just ask them to tip and don't set a fee. My charge isn't set in stone, though. Up front I tell people that if they can't afford the fee I have flexible payment options, and if I like someone I've been known to do them for free if they're strapped for cash - so take note and be nice to your Image Designers! It may pay off for you!

I notice that charges vary wildly from planet to planet even on the same server. 10k for a stat migrate *seems* to be standard at Coronet, but at Theed it's not. What I do notice is that if you roleplay your character and are polite and courteous to you customers they appreciate you a LOT more. Someone told me last night that they'd been playing SWG for months and I was the most polite person they'd ever met! It's nice to be appreciated for the way we do things.

I think charging 10-20k is reasonable as its like a permanent buff. On my alt who ID's, I throw in free holo-emotes if they want them and any other ID work. If they just want ID work, then I use the "I work on tips" system. If I try that with stat migrates, I very often wind up with nothing as a tip or something thats really too low. Just my 2 credits.
