Under the right conditions means: You have at least 2-3 hours a day to ID and you have a partner willing to assist you and click as soon as you accept. I played 2-3 hours just IDing and was a master in under 2 weeks. Something is definitely wrong here.
As for resources, I'm being fair. I make a fortune in image design on Wanderhome because 90% of the ID community on my server follow this price guide
Here is what I charge on Wanderhome and have no difficulties in getting paid for my time:
Basic Image Designs:
ID I: 100 credits
ID II: 200 credits
ID III: 300 credits
ID IV: 400 credits
Elite Designs:
Novice Image Designs: 1000 credits
Hair and Markings:
Intermediate: 2000 credits
Advanced: 3000 credits
Expert: 4000 credits
Master: 5000 credits
Face snd Body:
Intermediate: 2000 credits
Advanced: 3500 credits
Expert: 5000 credits
Master: 6500 credits
Master Image Designs:
Skin Color: 10,000 credits
Torso: 9,000 credits
Age 8,000 credits
Other: 7,000 credits
Complete Face/hair/body overhaul: 100,000 credits
Complete Face/Hair overhaul: 50,000 credits
Complete Body overhaul: 75,000 credits
I don't want this turning into a debate thread, we can do that on a new thread. I am sure the devs will decide which are good/bad suggestions.

Wanderhome Server
Geez! Where are you located on Wanderhome? I am the only Master Image Designer I have seen on the server and what speaking of that, what do you mean, "90% of the ID on the server follows this?" I have honestly never seen a Master Image Designer on Wanderhome and I been to some other planets besides my home planet, Tatooine. I personally just ask for tip, for whatever the customers feel is fair or whatever they can spare for me. I get enough to make me happy from that.
First off I'd like to say that after reading through all the replies I just have to giggle. I never played Beta, and my fiance informed me at release that I would be playing, so I better figure out what I wanted to play. ![]()
So I started looking through the book and decided that I thought it would be SO cool to be an Image Designer. I could change my own look whenever I wanted, and help people fix their stupid mistakes from character creation thinking "Oh it'd be fun to be really fat" or "I'm going to be really short withbalding hair".
My fiance thought I was crazy, and wanted to know why I would play a "dress-up" character. He referrs to it as barbie.
And NO one else would make an Image Designer so I'd be needed!
Okay so anyway, I buy the game and spend 30 minutes just IN character creation testing the looks. Now, with the whole XP thing, my fiance has said that he would help me by letting me change his apperance. OMG did that get old fast. After an hour he was screaming for me to let him go shoot stuff! And some of the changes took a ton of mind bar, which doesn't refill that quickly.
So I started getting a little frustrated, I wanted to be a master designer so I could do everything, but it was keeping him from enjoying the game. And most other people didn't even know what an image designer was and were insecure about letting me skill on them in case they lost their hairstyle or something since I didn't have all the styles from the beginning.
Alrighty, to cut a long story short, I finally acheived Master Image Designer, possibly the second one on Naboo. (that I know of)
I was so excited that I didn't have to sit in town all day anymore, I could go out and explore and shoot stuff!
Then I found out that tailoring had some awesome outfits! What a perfect combo for the ideal dress up character. Sampling is worse than image designing! Crafting is boring and what is one really going to do with 100 soft undershirts!?
Now to get to my point. I don't think anything is wrong with the XP. I personally DON'T have a life and it still took me a while to get Master ID, because it ain't free! Had to get all that cash somehow and people weren't going to pay for me to not be able to change anything/everything.
Having to have resources would just be a bore. It's bad enough that people don't like that we can't do things different from character creation, let alone having to travel all over the worlds looking for resources on our huge paychecks. Mind you, a lot of the image designers on Lowca have spoken and come up with a price list that we go by, when I do get jobs, I make good money. But it takes me time... in less time I could have made about the same doing missions. Therefore I feel no qualms about charging people to change their hair, make them taller, or darken their skin. And of course, there are people that don't think they should pay for it. But I'm not going around asking a master armorcrafter to make me his best gear for free, why should someone get my services for free. Just because I don't use resources doesn't mean I don't use something... my time and mind bar are worth something and I'll tell people that.
Lastly, there are things that just shouldn't be available.. we are image designers, not new character makers. We can make some extreme changes as is to a character, skin color, height, weight, all facial modifications.
There is nothing like that in any other MMO I have played.
But I would like the bugs to be fixed... I can't change the color of my own eyebrows (twi'lek female) or fix some people's ears, etc.
So until the devs bump image designers to a little higher on their list of things to do, I'll just sit back and work on my shooting skills and tailoring skills so that one day I can be the true barbie player of SWG. ![]()
P.S. I don't really like barbies... it just works. ![]()
Fix the options that aren't working before adding other things.
-Eye Shape
-Twi'lek female eyebrows
-Male freckles
I just ran across this one today:
The ability to ID vendors. A friend of mine has a very frumpy looking vendor and would like to changer her but I can't do it. If the owner/boss agrees to in, why not let them be changed?
Nouva said: "Gender-switching ability: make men women and vice versa." That is just WRONG! Changing a man to a woman and a woman to a man??! Get real! That is kinda sick, if you know what I mean... Also I don't agree with the gaining too much xp because I think it's great that for once, it doesn't take for ever to level.
But I would have to agree with everything else that Nouva said.
