Well, many IDs would probably agree that 2.5k is probably below the average of what they receive for stats migrations. I usually charge a flat fee for stats migrations which is between 5k-8k depending on how busy things are. If things are really busy in the tent, I'll charge 8k, because those 10 minutes Im sitting down with a stats migration just for this person, I could be making more money doing ID changes in that time. Time is money. If things are really slow, and I have nothing else to do, I'll charge 5k. I usually advertise 8k, and if someone ends up getting it for 5k they feel like they are getting a special deal or something. Ive done stats migrations for less. I've helped out many struggling newbies and Im usually very understanding if someone can't afford the flat fee but is in dire need of a stats migration. But I'dalso like to get my share for having to sit there to migrate their stats just for them.

But lets face it, stats migrations are boring. Extremely boring. Imsure that most people who mastered ID, like me, far before the publish neverimagined that they'd be grinding to dostats migratons for everyone. When you have a line of like 6 people all waiting for stats migrations, your spending an hour straight staring anda little timer, and suddenly 2.5k a pop seemsa little low when other professions are making several times that for their buffs. I mastered ID because I love Image Design. I love making people happy, doing ID changes for them, being CREATIVE.Let me tell you, there is no creativity in stats migrations. And now that the publish has been out for a while, mostly everyone has gotten the new ID changes they've been wanting, so 95% of my current business is nothing BUT stats migrations. It's really sad. If this was what the profession was becoming more focused on, why not just call it Master Stats Migrator. Since thats where most of my business is coming from, where do you think my only income is coming from?

It's a frustrating thing though, that a lotof non IDers don't understand. Some of them come in and complain about how long it takes. In fact, many of them arevery impatient to sit thru the 10 minutes without making it well known they don't like to wait. They are sitting through one stats migration when their ID has probably done half a dozen or more of them that day alone. Im not really thrilled about sitting there for 10minutes either, but I'd liketo get something from all that time I'm spending helping these people out. Or you get the people you yell at you because they dont like the fact they have to go to an ID now to get their stats migrated, let alone have to pay anything for it, and take it out on you as if it were your idea to make it that way. Or ever been doing a stats migration for someone and you have 20 seconds left on it and they "accidentally" close the window causing you to have to start the ENTIIRE thing over again? IDs can have to go thru a lot of tough, not so fun things. Sure its the ID changes, the helping people and making them happy, the being creative, and the nice, appreciative, and generous customers who make it all worth it. But theres still alot of rude, ungreatful, difficult people out there demanding your services too, and its a virtue to be that patient and understanding with them. I think IDs deserve the credits for a stats migration. I think if someone actually thought about the things they have to go thru, and how stats migrations probably were not what they mastered ID for in the first place, and how they are taking 10 minutes of their time just so they can migrate a person's stats, they can easily hand over 5k-8k. Its probably much cheaper than the clothes they are wearing anyways.

Well i can only agree to what others have said and say that you had bad luck wiht the ID. Me i usualy open up at 10k and then we work from there. If you got the creds then most ppl just pay and then go afk on me to do something else. If you don't have the creds i usualy ask how mutch and then we work from there. Sometimes i even get a tip. =)

Recnetly tho i had an interesting /tell chat with a person who did just not undertsand that i could not set his stats for him. He keept asking me to do this or do that... Was kinda funny. =)

Stat migrations are a real pain but I charge two charges.

1) If I'm in the tent at the time 10K ( all my IDing is 1K per minute ).
2) If I have to make a special trip 20K.

I base the 1K per minute on the approximate K per minute for quenker lairs.

2500 credits is not really a lot of money. You can run two missions and get the doubled sum (most likely more) with a combat class. I'm generally trying to see how much money someone has. I tell them the general prizing according to the SW boards and let them pick what they tip. I've been screwed (0 credits) and blessed (50000 credits) both on the same day.

I am trying to help people out when I can, but sitting in the tent the whole day doing one stat migration after the other isn't very exiting if no other ID changes are wished. I'm charging a general prize of 20k for migrations at the moment. I'm making it cheaper for new players or people who don't have much cash, but don't see myself changing the fee anytime soon.

Two examples: Yesterday I had two customers. Both asked how much a stat migration would cost. I tell them general prizing is 20k. First customer goes: "Oh, I don't have that much money. Think you could lower it a bit?". Second customer goes: "LOL Ohhh no thanks." =shrug=

Ended up doing it for free for the first one, but wasn't feeling like lowering it for the 2nd customer. It all depends how someone treats you.
