Ok nOOb question: hopefully this isn't too far out of context. how do I, or is there a way to jump to my posts? and for that matter how would I jump to someone elses post?

Click on your name on the left. Or click on "advanced search" at the bottom of the screen for all kinds of fun search options

Also, top of the forum interface, above where it shows the forum you're on, and to the left of the "No Messages" line.
Your name there should link to ya status, or you can click on your name from your posts.
And now, I'm not sure which is the one Kwee meant, but there ya go.
