Funny, you talk about freedom of choice, and then you say you don't think I have a right, huh? That's a little contradictory. Let me set things straight, once and for all. Many of China's recent posts have not been constructive, have not been polite, and have, quite frankly, been condescending, rude, and ilinformed. To put it bluntly, she's accusing anyone who hasn't been an ID for more than a few months of being a hologrinder, and that is clearly not the case. I don't care why she's acting the way she is, but the fact is that sort of behavior is not acceptable, and I exercised my right to choose and clicked that button. Guess what? GarVa agreed with me.

I am not advocating that hologrinders be allowed to shape the future of our profession. I am advocating that not everyone that disagrees with the timers or their implementation is a hologrinder or a whiner as China would like us to believe. Further, she contributed in beta. Whoopdie-freaking-doo. I remember China from when I first started IDing, and I respected her for her unwillingness to mince words—but you know what? She's been gone a long time, and as far as I'm concerned coming back just at the time of the patch is no better than being a rank newbie coming in now. Her opinion is no more valid than mine, or Fuschia's, or anyone else's—and as long as she's civil she's more than welcome to express her opinions. But she isn't civil, and that's a big problem. She violated the forum terms of service, and I called her on it. End of story.

*looks at DarthVisible's profile…looks at Nouva's profile* ROFL. Oh, come on. If you're going to use an alt account to try to chastise me, at least have the forethought not to leave the birthdays the same.

My family moved to America to escape facism and elitism. The best part about this country is that we all have aright to express our opinions. I don't report anyone because I believe in the right to express opinion. If thier flames are racially or culturally offensive, or saturated in profanity, I private message said offender and work it out that way. We are all different, and we all have different forms of expression. I find it quite insulting that there are forum moderators with power to delete a post. Lock the post by all means, but to delete something as if it never happened, to me it seems unconstitutional, dare I say...the "e" word?

To compare elitism, or in plain English nothing more than snobbishness with one of the most murderously vile regimes the world has ever known (at least that's what I think you are referring to), is taking things out of perspective I think. But I do agree with you that the thread should not have been deleted. If it were truely so insulting (I'm not that impressed really) then they could have also locked it, but even that would be a bit much if you ask me.

Thank you for your feedback but in the future please do not create a thread for it instead simply PM any of us moderators and we will be happy to read it.

Having only recently converted to the entertainer professions I haven’t added to the post until after the revamp and although I was frustrated by the new system, I mastered ID (post May 12) and it is now one of the accomplishments I am most proud of. I have found 99% of the content on this forum to be constructive and very useful. What frustrated me the most was the attitude of an extremely small minority of vets (none of which are on my galaxy) who rather than drawing the newcomers into the profession by guiding them through the rough parts, chose to belittle them.

All of us who are new to a given profession rely on the veterans to guide us down the path to mastery and will either choose to stay or go based upon these experiences. The thread in question may have started out positive, but degraded into a volley of increasingly personal attacks that served no constructive purpose. The lack of respect shown for incoming players and other professions is inexcusable and GarVa was correct in his actions.
