Some IDs seem to be lamenting the loss of stat migrations - more, I think, are lamenting the loss of income they bring. So I'm wondering: should we HAVE something 'extra' to relace stat migrations? Maybe something that's more in line with what we as IDs actually are about? And if so... what would you like to see them add as our bonus skill?
Thanks in advance for the replies, I get bored at work.

At the moment, I'm still celebrating the removal of stat migrations. I'm not worried about the money, since I make more than enough with makeovers.
Now for the second part of the question: Of course I think we should get something new and in line with what our profession is all about. I'm always up for love and attention!
So far as what I'd like to see them add...*looks at the wishlist and drools* Everything!

Stat migrations was a good call to remove. Now they can work on giving us 2+ years of no added content.

I'm not too fussed about em going nor am I too fussed about them being replaced, so long as if they do it is a more IDish thing. IDing vendors would be nice.

I never liked doing stat migs. I always made much, much more from makeovers then I ever did from stat migs.
The only reason I could ever figure out why they gave that to IDs, was to "force" customers to "use" us. Bleh. Please. I'd rather have someone want my services rather than need them.
If they ever decide to give IDs something to replace that, I would hope it's appearance related, not combat related. The Wish List would be a good place for the Devs to look for ideas what IDs REALLY want.
ID is supposed to be fun and social. Not a chore.
Where's my player city ID salon? *points at guild halls, merchant tents, cantinas, med centers* And not just IDs. I think it would be marvelous if all professions had profession specific designed building(s). (small, medium and large versions)
The only other thing I might change my mind about would be the makeup kits and wigs. I know many do not wish ID to be a crafting profession. But if we had just a few low resource requirement "consumables" to craft and sell, like musicians do, that might go a long way to adding some new "content" and variety for IDs. So we are not all alike. Ya know? And it would give yet another reason, a logical and appearance related reason for customers to seek out an ID.

I dont wanna sound negative, but lets look at this from the entire entertainer standpoint:
Previously:
Id's: Migrations
Dancers: Prim. Mind buffs
Musicians: Secondary Mind buffs
Current:
Id's: Cosmetic
Dancers/Musicians: Inspirations
with that being said, the current has no true "necessity" in the post-cu system. previously, migrations were somewhat of a necessity with respect to changing professions. while primariy and secondary mind buffs were not necessary, they were certainly beneficial, to the point that they saved a lot of food while pvp/pve. and in pvp, they were necessary to be competetive.
now we move into an age...where they have pushed entertainers to the side. here is my take. fact is, SOE needs a new influx of customers and they are obviously banking on the release of episode III to generate new customers. the new customers are flat out the target market, not the current customers.
and combat is what they will focus on. sadly, combat is what will draw people to this game, and keep them enamored, not dancing, or playing a mandovil. believe me, i love my entertainer, but you can flat out see what direction they are heading. i dont like it, but it is reality
as for what to add to ID, i am not sure. i wish i had suggestions, but i dont even know if any suggestions even we as a community could make would even be acknowledged

I won't miss stat migrations in the slightest.
As for something to replace them, I would love to have us be able to ID vendors.

I hate stat migrations. Lots of hate.
As for something to replace it, sure, I like new content, but it doesn't have to be functional. I'll go for some tattoos, kthxbye.

I accepted those migrations when they came as a part of our world, but I cannot say that I truely liked them. I will definitly miss them. Since both my ID-chars are economically independet I won't miss the money either.
But I still would like to see something usefull and new for us, that's not that artificial and combat related... like Vendor IDing for example

I hated the migrations and wasn't in the least bit sorry to see them go away. Out of everything on our wishlist, I'd love to see Vendor ID happen, but I certainly don't feel that they OWE us anything for the COMBAT UPGRADE.

Not an ID, but I too am bored at work. Besides improved colored palletts and stuff like that, I'd also like it if you could ID pets as well as vendors

Yay, thanks for the replies. I mostly just found myself wondering if IDs really need that 'extra' skill or if they're happy just making people pretty. I have ALWAYS been perfectly happy just making people look good, myself. That being said, I would not turn down new content, especially IDing vendors. That would totally be in line with our profession and would also bring in a nice chunk of change for most folks.
