Thread: Changing *last* names

I know that we've talked about name changing as a method of disguise, and it was agreed that griefing would follow. But what about changing last names!? No potential for griefing, and a market for it in the marriage context. The only thing I can see being problematic is that people will change their names to something dirty, but that can happen at character creation in any case.

I'm positive I heard that CSR's can and have done this for people... Would be another nice alternative for us as well though.

CSRs have not done this FOR people, they do it TO people. People have varying degrees of taking offense at stuff and what not.

This would be a very nice addition to IDers
Sense our main job is to fix mistakes done in character creation this would fit into our profession. Plus get us a lot of wedding invites

Further suggestion: allow us to change the capitolization of first names, but not the characters themselves—I.e. LeEtDoOd -> Leetdood. No oportunity to grief, but it'll let us help folks who forgot to capitolize or had capslock on, or whatever.

My character on Sunrunner"scavenge" would love to become"Scavenge".
So I'm all for capitolization of first names

Wedding invites AND tons of pre-wedding ID work.

Sounds good to me. I say we add that to our list of demands, and then take the devs' pets hostage until those demands are met…er…wait. Maybe we should just ask nicely?
