Thread: Cool us entertainers may get a droid ;)

Entertainer module: Entertainers would get a certification so that only they could use this droid (no combat functionality is added so its different that the combat certs). This module would allow an entertainer to queue one of 10 different new effects (smoke, lighting, etc.) The advantage is that the droid won’t consume entertainers HAM (just batteries). Each module will represent a different effect. So with 10 different effects, there will be 10 Entertainer modules which means the higher level droids with more module slots will be more useful for queuing different effects.
Hehehe OK this is not for us, but maybe we should be thinking if we want a droid and what it would do?
- Reduce HAM?
- Sell lipstick?
- act as a moving ad?
- flashing lights and hologram saying open for bussness?
- does "faction disguises" ?
- does our new "critical function" ? :rolleyes:

They are suggesting the moving ad for Merchant. They want to make droids a lot more prevelent in the game, so expect to see them add all kinds of droid functions to help everyone.

The advertising droid merchants might get would prob suit us wonderfully 
A droid that would save what someone's settings are on a little disc would be great!
A disguising droid sounds like it wouldhavegreat roleplay potential Maybe it could do some wizardry to enhance a disguise.

What I'd love to see, is an ID droid module, that would project a Hologram of the person being ID'd above the droid.
When an ID makes changes to the customer, the hologram would alter to show both the ID'er and the customer the changes.
This would get rid of the bad lighting problem, and also allow the ID'er and customer to make finer changes, and make the ID process easier.

This would also be a nice advertisement seeing that other players will notice that you're IDing and can see the resullts.

I really like the idea of a Holo emitting ID droid. I've got a simple bot named Snip I pull out when I'm in the mood strickly as a role play add-on. Talk to the customer, and then instruct the droid to the major surgical work. It would be nice to actually have a droid that has a functional purpose.
And I like Kwee's idea as well that it records the customers numbers. Currently, I keep a 4x6 index card for each customoer and record a history of their changes. What competent professional doesn't keep records, I ask you? <smiles>, but if the droid could keep a record of say the 10 most recent customers and their changes that would be nice.

Ooh. What if we could record our customer's numbers as a "manufacturing schematic" for a non-existant factory type? Then we could use those 150 item storage modules for something—two birds with one stone.
