I would love it if they made it so we could change our species... I'm a wookie and i wish i could wear human clothes, thus i want to become a human... That change would be awesome... Please tell me when you think of it?

I'm sorry- maybe I'm just stuck-up or something, butit would make absolutely no sense to allow us to do that. It's totally unrealistic. Yes, I know there are unrealistic elements to the game bit they do try to stick to the star wars canon (anything we see in movies and books).

I have to agree with vaywen. You can already change your appearance, profession, and stats. I think race is just asking a little too much.

If you could do that you would have a HUGE amount of business coming from imperials.

I think sex-change would be more acceptable than species change.

i couldn't see it "permently" changing you.

But i could see Image Designers being able to "hide" you identity, of a smiliar sized creature.

ie Human to rodain

ie not Wookie to bothan

this would be a temperary disguise used to hide, you could fully use clothes by that race and armour and such, but once changed back to your origional state you would auto take off your unwearable clothes (like the devs could do that, when i die and go covert i auto put on my faction uniform if i was naked even though i'm not covert)

it would last say an hour unless cancelled by the user. There would be no stats change as you did not change class, you just changed appearence.

As for periment race change that would be done through the Cloning Terminal. When you purchance insurance you would be able to change your DNA... All a clone is, is a DNA sample of you with implanted memorys/brain so it would be easy to do, make a clone of a different race, then implant your "brain" from the corpse of your old body, you now have your new race and old "brain"

the stats would be set to racial defaults and you would have to migrate them as if you just started a char fresh though, which isn't a big deal...

there is so much they could do with this game but they can't even get the basics right.

Sex change sounds good to me, but race change? We couldn't say "Oh, yeah, go find the big wookie over there, he makes blah blah blah" If we didn't remember his name, we'd have to say "Oh, yeah, go find... um... what's his name? George? John? Kalamazu? I don't know. I'm sorry."
Sex change, though... I'd love to be able to change people's gender. We charge 100k or so, or whatever the amazing price is, like reality. Woo!

Ya know, originally I was against species change as well, but Becar makes a most excellent point. Within the game your are able to come back from death by cloning. It would only make sense that if we can clone, we could arrange, at a cost, all character creation options available to edit your "clone", by using the clone terminal.

Now here's an idea though This would only be an option available to an "add-on" super elite profession to Image Design, kind of like Urban Planner on Architect (or so it's rumored). Name it something like Genetisist, although that might get confusing with Creature Handler DNA stuff. And PLEASE don't make it require Organic Chem or above unless we get some more skill points!

Excellent point by Becar. I'd like to know what everyone thinks of the twist!

I have no problem with it if you get human stats afterwards =)

In order to avoid further confusion, Ijust wanted topoint out that there already is a Geneticist title. It's the completion of the line of Engineering Techniques under the Bio-Engineer profession. Bio-Engineers are the ones that work with DNA samples, whereas Creature Handlers work on taming and training of creatures.

I think they may have to offer species changeswhen they add in new species in future expansions. Perhaps it will be some sort of clone feature like another poster mentioned, or even a Master Image Designer ability.

If there were some kind of cloning and dna factor in race changes, I think it would fall more into the Bio Engineer realm. Especially considering that Image Designers do just that: They change image. Race changes would alter more than just how someone looks. Now that I think about it though, I think it would be cool as some kind of Bio Engineer related ability.

While I'm taking up everyone's time who decides to read this, I'd like to also put in my little vote in favor of sex changes. Maybe as a Master ID skill.
