Thread: Making the Image Designer a more sought after profession

This might already be the case but I am still low on the level tree so I'm not sure.

It would be very cool if there were hair styles and other customizations that ONLY an Image Designer could do. Is this already implemented?

Yes, there are many hair styles that are not available at character creation that only an Image Designer can do. As far as I know everything else is available at character creation. I could be wrong though.

I know the ability to give people a species change would be really sought after also.

I'm torn on the idea of species and gender change. There might be some people who want it and will pay heavily for it. There might be other people who simply don't want to reroll and start a new toon from scratch, and who say, "Make me a Wookiee, I'm going to be a brawler now." Then there will be people who want to sell their account to some mope on eBay, or give up their 'toon to another for some reason, so the new guy wants to customize the character all over again.

If there were some kind of terrible penalty for doing so -- and notsimply a high monetary price-- then I'd be in favor of it. Say ... all stats drop to 50 and slowly migrate back into their new positions for 60 online non-AFK hours. Such a penalty would have to be double-confirmed by the recipient to prevent abuse, though.

I agree that there should be stat penalties to the extreme for changing species, however changing gender has usually little to do with how that charachter does anything.

I'm not and ID, but I was thinking along the lines of a severly ugly transition, very slow in process. For instance, men would slow breasts, and start to fill out in the right places, and women would start to get facial hair, become more beefy, and lose thier figure. This way, youll think twice before changing your gender, anyone who sees you in that state will, most likely, never tip you again.

Here's a thought...

I started an ID character and just recently made novice. I believe the xp to mind drain ratio, depending on what you alter, is all out of whack. Four lip adjustments empties an 800 mind pool... sheesh! Just had to say that.

What would be really cool, is if an image designer could, once becoming closer to Master, make body adjustments and tatoos for humans that are NOT available during character creation! For example, being able to adjust one's arm size, head size(within reason), even larger than the max bust/chest size, leg size, etc.

I think ID's should have many more customizations available to them.

Take a look at these screenshots from pre-release:

Note on the closeup the sloped nose as well as the lips that don't poke out so much. The ears are also a nicer shape and the face is generally more round in appearance. As it is now, female characters in particular have a very hard, angular look to them and it's impossible to get around that. Why they decided to disallow the creation of characters that look like that little zabrak girl is beyond me.

I would pay SO many credits to be able to get my character to look like that. We need more options!

Not only is the face much nicer looking, that hair style is not available and we have no body markings option.

People ask me all the time for new stuff and it is so irritating that I have to turn them down.

Oh well!!

How about this:

Make it similar to the medic profession in that you have to build a specific item in order to do a specific type of customization. Example, you need to build scissors to do hair, or dyes to change its colour.

What do you think?

Sorry, they already announced that gender and species changes were not going to happen. Stop wasting time on that and start thinking of some sweet new styles for hair and other features.
