*sigh* I have read and heard such ideas now and then myself... well, this is a free country and anyone may sound their ideas... But I don't think that "merging Artisan and ID" or stuff like that will ever be considered by the devs... actually they are pretty proud to have created the entertainer professions including the Image Designer. I don't even see any logical reason to even cosider a merge... especially not with the artisans... We are as far away from artisans as a pistol is usefull in baking cakes

not like it would be so hard to replace the word "craft" with "apply". rather than making them a crafted item, allow them to be applied during imaging sessions like holoemotes.

That's what I was thinking too.
If anyone else has other ideas on what kind of role an Image Designer can have in the GCW, I'm very open to them, and willing to fight for them.
I like the idea of quasi invisible influence, but not sure how to work it. For example, whenever we see actors, or the President on TV, their image is very carefully crafted to have an effect on us.
Outside of scans.. I'd like to see something like that put in game, but I can't figure out where. We don't really have npc politicians the players can schmooze or anything, where having your image crafted with intention to manipulate can come into play.
Again.. I'm very open to ideas.

I personally wont have that much of a problem with some "small craftables" for us ID. But since there is a significant amount of our fellow IDs that don't like to craft I have to sound their concerns, too.
But I agree, that directly applying disguises instead of crafting any kind of kits won't change the overall concept that much and would be still very nice and imersive. It's just a matter of how to implement it.

It's a sweet idea, but not quite what i want the most to be added for tailors. Something tells me I will only get requests for those kind of outfits and since they still haven't fixed the decay issue we are still on square one.

Choosing to comment here rather than there because of the smacktard who was all dissin' the ID's...
I'd just like to thank n'Jessi and TechnoCan for getting us the link to this, and doing such a great job in representing the concerns of ID's.
You guys rock!
Generally, I only read the ID, Tailor, and Merchant forums, so when something comes up about us elsewhere, I'm likely to miss it. Thanks for helping me stay informed!

Of course we've seen these ideas before, but it is always good to see them keep coming up... especially when the devs have really been going out of their way to give us some of the things we've been screaming about for yaers now.
I have always loved the idea of ID's being able to create disquisesor to craft wigs & makeup kits that players could purchase to change their look by themselves when it is inconvenient to try to find an ID. ID sessions could work similar to crafting sessions where you get a choice at the end to make a real item or a schematic... but in our casethe choicecould be to eitherapply the changes now, or in a kit form that the player couldapply to themselveslater on. This could come in very handy for players who want a specific look for around holidays & for disquises that they may needto use during certain points ofcovert missions etc.
With disquises, we should be able to temporarily give the illusion of other races also... as long as the person could actually fit inside the disquise. For example, a human should be able to be disquised as Zabrak or Twi'Lek, but a wookiee should not be able to be disquised as a Rodian or Bothan, etc. These disquises should be good enough to pass a random inspection of NPC's, but they should not alter any species based stats or abilities since the char is only wearing the disquise & not really having their race changed.

How about something more basic: Tuskens hate me because of the genocide against their people i engaged in, in my past. But perhaps if i disguise myself they won't see the notorious tusken killer and instead see some random commoner? (I.E. let IDs make or apply "disguises' which allow you to shift your npc faction ratings)
