Thread: The top ten questions I sent in

Here's what I came up with based on your input and the goodies listed in our Sotp. Now we get to kick back and let Thunderheart work his magic Thank you everyone for answering my dozens of question threads and polls over the past few weeks. I wanted to be sure I had a firm grasp on the community's desires and needs (and we don't always agree!). At this point I've about hit the threshold for amount of information flowing from the community to the development team. It's time again to play the waiting game

  1. Image Design was placed in the Entertainer profession tree, yet has not received Image Designer equivalents of post-launch Entertainer enhancements such as gig missions, registry on the global map, master player city buildings, or buffing. Is there a chance we might receive these Entertainer benefits?

  2. What was the original developer vision for ID? Does ID in its current form fit that vision? How have the community’s suggestions over the past months meshed with that vision?

  3. Many professions in SWG require interactions with other professions to gain the best benefit. ID is currently not dependent on any other professions nor are any professions reliant on ID—is there any intent to change that, and if so how?

  4. Would SOE ever consider adding a crafting element to Image Design? Suggestions made by the community in the past include makeup (lipstick and eye shadow), wigs, and buffing salon products (e.g. massage lotion, mud mask, eau de toilette).

  5. Are there plans to allow Image Designers to modify NPC vendors? Both the Image Designer and Merchant communities have often requested this ability. Many merchants devote a great deal of time (and database space via deletions) to getting as close as possible to a desired vendor look. The vast majority of randomized vendors would scare off potential customers.

  6. Would an Image Designer’s role ever be expanded to include a place in the Galactic Civil War or to provide support for combat professions? Suggestions in this area have included providing buffing spa-like services (such as physical therapy) in a Master Image Designer building or providing a variety of benefits via disguise kits.

  7. Are there any plans to further enhance the Image Designer user interface? It is very hard for us to get a good view of our customers. Wishing in this area includes better lighting, a way to zoom in, an interface like that in character creation, and an ability to force the customer to hold still.

  8. Will there ever be an intense development focus on Image Design such as has recently been given to Chefs, and can we expect any new content before such a revamp?

  9. Image Design is riddled with bugs (13) that have been around since launch. Why have none of our bugs been addressed to date? Is it related to us being a less populated profession, or are our bugs difficult to fix?

  10. What are the odds of the Image Design community seeing any of their top five new content requests: 1/ New hairstyles, 2/ Expanded color palettes, 3/ Body tattoos, 4/ Textured, 3-D facial hair, 5/ Hip/rump adjustments?

Sorry just had to say this, I came across this post on the dev tracker and for some bizzare reason your correspondants name is quite amusing to me. Something about the name Kwee makes me chuckle

That's what everyone tells me! Hehe. It was actually a name I came up with for a Daoc alt shortly before I got into SWG beta, after Kiwi was rejected, and I just fell in love with it. I'm usually a Stronglikebull (don't ask) or Slythe or Bellanoche or Elowen or something ending in "moon"

Thunderheart, thank you for taking the time to drop us a note

Everyone, thank you so much for your input over the last weeks,I know I've polled you to death!

OT:I think it would be neat if a Jedi got a lot of "visibility" he could go to an ID every so often to get it reduced (not removed, that would be to easily exploited).

Though I am not an ID (the farthest I made it was 15 points IDXP) I do see that the ID is more a novelty profession and needs to have some sort of interdependence in the GCW by being the plastic surgeons of the galaxy

Nice job, Kwee

I agree! In fact if smugglers ever get realistic enough to havea reputation (Han sure did in some areas), they should be able to hit the ID up for a makeover that will reduce their recognizability among Troppers and other Imp NPCs.

I'm asking!!!! I think I might remember a sound bite where I've heard that term before, but it wouldn't be entirely appropriate to refer to it in these public forums.

But am I on the right track?
