After spending time on test and on Live using the new features these aremy thoughts and reactions to the various changes to the Image Design profession in the Mini-Publish.
New Interface B+
There are many nice things in the new interface. The client side is especially good, allowing them to see things interactively helps them make more informed suggestions and feel a part of the process. Secure payment is a win, as are multiple changes per session. On the down side, the color palettes are very awkward and choosing a color is problematic for a master, the sliders lack the numbers that were helpful to us andthe UI is far too large on the design side.
New Colors B-
The new colors are decidedly a mixed bag. In general hair color is quite good, with lots of color variations, from vibrant dye colors to realistic shades.Eye color is less good, since there are real color restrictions for some races (notably humans.) Eventoday you can get red colored contact lenses if you want them, why are there limitations in the game? Makeup color is fair, though there are still too many oddball colors and not enough realistic tones. Skin color for some races is wonderful (e.g. Twi'lek) and extremely disappointing for others (e.g. Human, Zabrak)
Holo-Emotes D+
Big points for effort, but a lot of the effects are not what I would ever have wanted. On the plus side, Hearts, Hologlitter and Champagne are the kind of things I think we all were maybe thinking about. Even there, I wish the effects ended as smoothly as they begin... cutting out in the middle of the animation for Hearts, Holonotes and some others just looks bad. In addition, the don't last long enough nor have enough charges to be any more than a novelty.
Experience Rate F
Experience rate gain is now so slow as effective to stop any inflow of new Image Designers to the profession.
Tents C
My initial reaction to the tents was very much more negative. I still think they are an ID ghetto, but at least I don't have to go near them if I don't want to as a Master ID.Since I have no plans to do Stat Migration, I can operate as if they don't exist, but I feel sorry for the up and coming Novice IDs who now essentially have 1 or 2 places in the universe to get experience in.
Timers F
Something had to be done to limit power grinding. We all know that. Forced wait timers within the interface was about the worst possible implementation that could have been chosen.I feel I am being punished as a practicing ID for the grinding that others have done.
Stat Migration D+
The idea was to give the ID a game important function. All well and good. But forcing people to see us was the wrong way to go about it, and the 10 minute timer adds insult to injury. This could have been an A easily if the old stat migration remained in place, but Image Designers could migrate instantly/quickly. Not allowing us to migrate our own statsjust adds insult to injury.
Bug Fixes B
Many of the older problems/omissions are dealt with... this is a good thing. The hair color bug is better than it was, really fixing it would garner an A grade here.
Overall D+
The new interface and colors are pretty goodbut the negatives far outweigh the positives here, I wish I felt otherwise

Please post this to Runesabre's In Live thread here. Very nice post that deserves to be seen.

Just browsing, wanted to see if the 6 hour delay yesterday actually brought anything good to the game. D+ was what I expected from these guys before i opened this post. Overall thats exactly what id give galaxies also. The only good grades would be an A+ in potential, a B+ graphically, pretty much D+ all around for everything else. Pretty sad and ironic so much emphasis is put on stopping grinders. Devs when ya gonna learn, u wont stop the grinders or slow them down that much, they are going to leave the game anyway...All u do is punish the people who play the game the way u want meant it to be played(yes, there are people who play the game the way its meant, and im pretty sure we are the majority). All these games do is punish casual players.
So basically, all yesterdays patch added was a new aggravation(seems like thats all we get from any of them anyway, sigh), no more easy stat migration. Super.

New Interface B
It's very nice but more time needed to spent itusing by the devs to see what needed to be resized and what function are needed.
New Colors D-
The new colors are few tons of new shades of existing colors (more then needed or will be used) 4 out of 4 customers last night ask for more then one color I could not do. It's better then what we had but not by much
Holo-Emotes D+
Looks cool but is pointless and non-star wars
Experience Rate F
Incomplete and not thought out
Tents D
Tooooooo small and not star warsy or IDish, may be good for something else but IDing.
Timers B+
I like them but feel they need work Incomplete by 10%
Stat Migration F
For not listening to customers

I like the way it's easy to find what I need. I would give it an A if the color palettes were larger.
New Colors C+
I really enjoy the new hair and eye colors. Some of the skin colors for Twi'leks are really way out though.
Holo-Emotes D
Holo Emotes are hard to use and they don't last long enough at all. Each emote, in my opinion, should last about 2 minutes.
Experience Rate F
All I can say is that I'm glad I'm a master.
Tents D
The tents are way too small. We need bigger tents or maybe even a building, with more stations.
Timers F-
I cannot even begin to say how irritated I am with the timer. Four minutes to change someone's eye color is absolutely positively ridiculous and should be changed immediately.
Stat Migration F
All this has done is make everyone angry, including image designers.
Bug Fixes F
The brown hair bug was not fixed, and we've been begging for that to be fixed for months and months and months.

i personally don't want to degrade every single detail (lol), but for the colors i would give it a B, and the emotes about a C+...overall? i would say a D+...the lack of interest in anything BUT the emotes was depressing *cry*

New Interface: C
Needs slider numbers, and larger palette, other than that, not really much to say.
Personally, I never had much of a problem with the old one. Just /examine’d the victim and used that as the preview window. Worked fine.
New Colors: C
I’m a human and was really looking forward to the bodypaint, so “new” is kind of a misnomer here, haven’t had any non-human or zabrak customers so it’s been pretty boring.
Holo-Emotes: F
*Shakes head in disgust*
Experience Rate: F
Have to echo everyone else’s “Glad I’m already master” sentiment. It took me a month in the old way, the hologrinders will be gone soon enough, why was this really an issue?
Timers: F
Horrible. If you have to have them at all, they should be post change timers, and masters shouldn’t have a timer at all, and just to counter one argument about no one using a non-master if the masters don’t have a timer, if it’s a post timer, the customer would never be inconvenienced either way.
Stat Migration: F
Quite possibly the worst change ever. We didn’t need it, didn’t want it, and I think most of us still don’t. Not much more to say that hasn’t already been said about this.
Bug Fixes: Incomplete
When I see any, I’ll let you know.
Communication: F
No In Concept, No In Development, No updates before it hit Test Center, No longer any trust in the dev team.
Overall: D
Why couldn't we have been the decorators of the universe again?

I STILL can't get this one shade of blue for my Twi'leks. Oh well. Quite frankly I'm just pleased that we got some Dev love, I won't grade beyond saying that
Though I will say I never ran into so many supposedly "poor" people yesterday. Somebody with a lightning rifle tried to tell me he only had 200 creds and that I should accept it

New InterfaceB-
I would give it an A if the color palettes were larger and we need to be able to zoom.
New Colors A
I love the new colors. Need a bit more for skin though.
Holo-Emotes B
Should last longer but they are a big hit on Bloodfin.
Experience Rate D
Really need to bump this up to 1K per change made, not just the overall total.
Tents C
Only needed for Stat Migration really so they do their part
Timers C
I liked the idea but they are a tad bit long. Cut them in 1/2
Stat Migration A+
This is extremely popular on Bloodfin with PvPers!
Bug Fixes C
Nothing too seriously bad. Just minor things that only effect ID's but our customers are happy.

WHAT'S SO HARD ABOUT IMPLEMENTING BASIC BLACK??
Holo-Emotes B-
Great effort. They are fun but they aren't what the community wanted. They are nice party favors tho. It just sucks they took the place of more hair options and more body mod possibilities.
Experience Rate F
Incomplete and not thought out. Couldn't agree more.
Tents F
UGGGGGGGGGGGLY!! I swear to god even Med Centers have more character than this thing. The ID building is nice but oh my lord it's ugly. If SWG had morgues this is what they would look like.
Timers C
Bleh. Nuff said.
Stat Migration B-
Good idea.. could use some tweaking.
Bug Fixes B-
*mumbles inaudibly*. Decent effort.
Overall C
The revamp was good but it put bandaids where massive reconstructive surgery was needed.

If anyone cares... what do I think an ID building *should* look like?
Go check out the Theed Starport lobby. That's what I envisioned.
