Looking for a Master ID on the wanderhome server right now. I need a full makeover on a male character. I am willing to pay well for your time. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee message Tobius or if not him Teag on game ty ty ty

I have...but alot of IDs tend to hide now adays..and those that are on the post arent on..so I figured I would try to pull them out of the wood work

I know you are trying to be helpful, but please don't encourage people to come to this forum and ask for an image designer on their server! That is what the stickies and the galaxy trade forums are for. As long as people comehere and make these reqests and people offer to help these requests will keep clogging up this message board.

And posts about one star bandits are helpful??? And posts about how players just cant take it anymore..thier quitting because the game is not fair to them ..etc etc etc.That list is outdated and there has been more than one person mention that just about everyone on that list is never on. This is a community forum. Its not private. His post on a galaxy trade forum would of been ignored and pushed away. And why put a Master Image Designer list in this forum if you do not want people to ask about it? Someone came to our community looking for help. So I offered it. It hurt noone . It helps usto knowthat players are looking for us. There are far more useless posts than this one "clogging up" this forum.

It is fine to offer help! I have nothing against that, but I would have sent a private message instead of making it obvious that anyone who wants to find an image designer should post here about it. This forum *used* to be one of the best forums around! It was full of lots of great ideas and a lot of community support. When the ID revamp happened, this forum completely degenerated to the point where it is hard to find anything useful for image designers anymore. That is a shame, but it would be nice to try to make it more like it used to be. Maybe after all this time here on the ID forum I should just give up on it, though.

I think I need to respectfully disagree, Gyopi. We can't live in the past. This board *used* to be great... as you put it. Image Designers are few and far between at the moment. We need to revitalize our businesses and if our business increases because folks come here to this forum and post that they are looking for an IDer on their server, then I say, so be it. You don't increase your business by not advertising and you don't increase your business by telling the customer that they are wrong in what they are doing. Our whole society has gotten things all turned around. I am sure Kwee does his best to keep the list up to date. But I am not about to tell a customer that I can't do business with him because he didn't check the menu first.
This community can be great again if we aren't close-minded about business practices and if we encourage people to come see that Image Designer is a great, needed and fun profession. And also, it would be great to show folks that we can have civilized discussion and debate in this forum rather than the ridiculous flaming and name calling that goes on within the other boards.

I am usually on at night on wanderhome although i don't spend time in the salon a tell usually we get me to come out of the hole that i am in......lol i am usually a craftin away, but another way for you do that is to go to the salon and see if anyone is there that way the ones working on id can get the xp

This is fine. I am certainly not the message board police, so if this is now accepted, then so be it. It used to be normal to ask people to go to their trade forums or look at the stickies at the top of the forum, but I agree that times do change. It is a whole new group of people on this forum in the past few months and it is *this* group who are the majority of the image designers. Not people like me. So I agree. I need to change or go the way of the dinosaur. I apologize to everyone who I offended in this thread.
Since this forum is not really helpful to me anymore and most of my friends have left, Iwill probably not spend much time here anymore anyway.

Maybe both sides could meet in the middle and create a new sticky "Looking for an Image Designer on:_______". I saw another post lower down with such a name, but it turned out to be something of a passive-aggressive rant. In any case,there's already an "ID looking for customer" thread, so it seems logical that a "Customer seeking ID" thread would fit; it works in the classified ads.If nothing else,asingle stickywould give people a place to go to seek what they're after without spamming other on-topicthreads off the page. Both sides win.
That idea out of the way, I can say with complete honesty that unless you knew a master image designer before the revamp, you don't know one now. They appear to have received Harry Potter's cloak of invisibility with the revamp. Granted, a novice can do the stat migration, but people looking for the widest possible range of colors in order to achieve what the profession was originallydesigned to do (altering appearance) sometimes need a master. After two weeks of looking, I've found exactly zero of them. None of the names on the list. None in salons. None with the "search" function, and I've used it every twentyminutes like clockwork and again everytime I stepped off a shuttle on a new planet. Not one. I checked all thesalons(not just Coronet and Theed) just to make sure there wasn't a masterimage designer who was at work but dodging tells. A few novice entertainer flags, not one mid-range image designer (though I did check badges to make sure none were elite image designers in disguise).
I started as an entertainer and played her until afking came around (I made master about a month before the hologrind, but there was already afking by then). I made it up to Image Design IV with her, but never really progressed any further and grew dissatisfied with the prevalence of unattended gameplay. I still have her, but mostly out of a false hope that things will be fixed someday. I say this mainly to give myself the board version of "street cred." I'm certainly not the equivalent of a master image designer, but I respect them. I just can't find them. I saw literally 12 jedi today, and not one working image designer. It's very frustrating for those of us who would like to alter our appearance rather than change our numbers.
Not everyone out there is an ID-bashing power gamer or someone looking for a quick stat change, though I'm sure you're aware of that. The "Image Designer in Hiding" repercussions affect people looking to..well, design their image...as well, though. If there are any master image designers who are still engaging the public and employing their trade, it would be a great help to be able to find them. The stickied thread at the top of the page simply isn't doing what it was intended to. It was the first place I looked.
Is there anything the average player can do to draw Image Designers out of hiding? Anything at all? I thought about naming my medical droid "Hiring-Master-Image-Designer" and sitting by a salon, but that just seemed tacky; if you can't do it in style, then it's better to do without. I know Image Designers don't need resources, so donations of that sort wouldn't be helpful. I'm really at a loss for what to do. All of my friends who played entertainers left the game or gave up the skills in frustration around the same time I stopped playing my dancer, and the small roleplaying PA I belong to doesn't have any Image Designers of its own. It's unpleasant when the one profession you most want to find seems to be the one that wants to be found the least. Anything that can be done to change that situation would be very beneficial.

I would like to step up to bat and be the first to say I am sorry, Nhari. I am not following my own, above advice. No advertising, no business. I am not afraid of dealing with the ID bashers and I am not purposely hiding. I was unsearchable due to pvping/ base raids and forgot to turn it back on. That being said, I'm not to be found often in the ID tents anywhere. If I am there it is just because I am checking in after getting buffed in Coronet. I live on Dantooine and am quite content there. Adding player placable salons or revamping the theaters for ID use would certainly make me be much louder in advertising my service, but, alas, I know I have some time to wait for such things.
We all need to make ourselves more visible to our respective galaxies. ID haters be dammned (and yes, I know that isn't spelled correctly). I enjoy the conversations I have while IDing. I enjoy meeting new and interesting people -- and I don't have to kill them anymore.
