Ok, I don't mean to be a pest or anything. But, this is something I've only noticed in the ID forums. Well, yes, it occurs elsewhere, but it seems to be running rampant here.
That is, some people's signature files are too long length-wise. And, when they post to a thread, it throws the entire thread out of whack. And, I have to keep scrolling back and forth, left and right, in order to read the posts. I find it extremely annoying, and it's gotten to a point, that I tend to no longer read the threads where this has happened.
So, I'm not trying to force anyone to do anything here. But, perhaps some of you could consider taking a look at your sig files, and shortening the length? Maybe? For my sanity? Pretty please?
Thanks for your consideration on this matter.

The problem is, some of us run at different resolutions—I almost never have to scroll…but then I run at 1280x1024…so if I'm one of the offenders I apologize—let me know and I'll do what I can to correct the problem.

Hrmm, I suppose I could change my resolution. Although, I tend not to want to have the letters all tiny and be all squinty.
Well, if I'm the only one having this problem, then I really don't want the entire board to change their sigs just for me. LOL. But, if some other people are, then that would be cool. So, yes, you are an offender!

*nods* Your sig does cause side-scroll, Syzygy-Gorath.
I'm running at an unusual 1152 x 864.
I admit it's annoying aspect of the Lithium boards, and I wish there was way to fix it so it auto-wrapped signatures like it does everything else.
I've taken to writting short sentences, and no more because more than that will make it so I can't read what I wrote later.
I don't know what will fix the problem... I just use the sidebar on the bottom, and sort of ignore stuff a lot.

Well, good thing I'm an ID—a little n-i-p, a little tuck…better?

Kinda weird tho…the sig is obviously in a bounding box 'cause it'll crop the last line(s)…I wonder why they don't have it crop at the sides, too?

Thanks Syzygy. I know I definitely appreciate the effort you put into changing your sig.Thankfully, you were able to do it without a timer.
Now, I just need to hunt down the others.

Out of curiousity, what resolution are you running? Just for fun I set my secondary to 800x600 and everything side-scrolls, even threads with no sigs at all—so then I set it to the next resolution up, 1024x768, and couldn't find anything that would make it scroll…even sigs I figured would (of course, having already changed mine I can't test that.) I'm wondering if maybe it's a browser thing? (I use AvantBrowser, an overlay for Internet Explorer, so for all intents and purposes I'm using the latest version of IE)

Is mine an offender? Though I can't imagine how to squeeze it in further, I already cut some stuff out (it used to be much bigger). Usually people tell me the bottom line gets cut off for them.

My resolution is 1024 x 768. I was doing some spot checking in various threads, and I haven't found another one that causes me to scroll yet. Perhaps it was only yours, hehe. Sorry to have caused such a ruckus for you over it. Maybe I thought a lot of people were causing it because you're such a prolific poster.
Nevertheless, I'm still very appreciative that you took the time to change your sig for me.
And, Kwee, no, yours seems to be fine. I had originally thought you were an "offender" because yours seemed kind of long, but everything appears to be fine now. Although, it is true, the last line is cut off for me, but it doesn't cause any side scroll.

Looking at the source, Lithium uses some weird custom JavaScript function to render sigs…my guess is they're using a CSS "box" and defined height as an absolute, but left width floating. Ah well. Who knows what the real cause is?
