Thread: Weird Novice ID Bug (Seems to Only Affect Bothan Targets)

I first noticed this when Ssumidra was grinding ID, but since it stopped happening and never happened with any of my other IDs, I thought it must have been fixed or something. I now believe that it may only happen when a Novice ID is doing a session on a Bothan. What happens is that the default timer is 2.5 minutes (as for body changes) instead of 1 minute (as for cosmetic changes). Then if you do any cosmetic changes without clicking on revert (which sets the timer back to 1 minute) you get the ID session data is invalid, aborting changes message. This happens even if you are doing a stat migration in addition to the cosmetic changes. However, it does NOT happen if you do only a stat migration or if you also do a body change. It also appears to go away once you train any of the level 1 skills (though that may be observer errror and it may only go away if you train specific skills).

Are there any otherswith a base Novice ID who could test this on a Bothan? Thank you for the heads up Maisland

Which changes are the cosmetic ones for Bothans?

Hair color/style and fur color are the cosmetic changes you have for Bothans at Novice ID. I always train Hairstyling 1 first, so I don't know if training any of the other level 1 ID skills would fix it also. I started Miyax on the road to ID and my alt on that server that I am using as ID Victim is a Bothan (as was Ssumidra's on Bria).

I had this happen when I was still novice on a Bothan. It sucked. I relogged, he relogged, he ran out of range..etc.. Nothing we did could fix this. I had 2 other Novice ID's try to work on him (it was for a stat mig.) and they had no luck either. Nothing sucks worse than sitting through 6 stat mig. for someone and it never working!!!!!!!!!

The work-around that I found was to click on revert before doing any work. As far as I have been able to tell, no other race has this problem.

Add Rodians to the list. A buddy in my guild is trying to Stat Migrate on me & same error every time.

I got a similar bug tonight. The poor ID tried to give me holo-emotes, and it kept giving that same message. We spent 1/2 hour logging, running to different locations, and anything else we could think of. I, too, am a Rodian.

It was very annoying.

It appears that the UI automatically tries to affect some changes to certain races (which are not valid btw) as soon as you start the image design session (hence the 2mins 30seconds timer, which indicates at least one of the changes is a physical one). Clicking Revert will help to go around this problem. I have had this happen to me a few times, on Rodian clients, didn't have a problem with Bothan ones yet. One of my client was complaining that his eyes appear yellow on his screen (which I do not see), I am not sure as I haven't actually checked, but I don't know if Rodians are allowed to have yellow eyes. After clicking revert, he said his eyes are black again and the image design session went on smoothly.

Thanks, that worked perfectly. You saved several of us from going crazy trying to get this to work. (And as a side note, Rodian eyes can be yellow-ish.)
