Thread: Again, just amusement factor, WE HAVE THE POWER.

WE HAVE THE POWER, to stop the fighting in its tracks.
I'd noticed this before, but it happened again today to the point where I just decided to point it out. I'll be sitting in the Salon doing one of those stat migrations, and I look down and see... to the left -- person with little imperial symbol sitting on the floor, to the right -- person with little rebel symbol sitting on the floor, not fighting (not talking), but just sitting not causing any problems at all. Right next to each other. At my feet.(and I nearly died later when I realized I hit "scroll lock" instead of the "print screen" key)
Similar has happened more times since, to my great amusement. Today? Today it was something else...
One fellowis in line for a stat migration (they had an Imperial novice fighterpilot title up, or something to that effect),another one walks in, and sends a tell asking about the wait. Then... aloud, "D'oh!" from the one who just walked in (person B),and from the other person, "crap."
They look at each other for a minute.
B: "I just want my tattoos gone, man"
A: "I needa migration...."
B: "crap, that's going to suck."
A: "Dude, I could buff anyway, you know that."
B: "*sigh* Yeah, okay."
I do the stat migration, eyebrows raising a bit. Person A thanks me, suddenly changes into Jedi robes, equips the lightsaber and heads out.
A: "Can't fight in front of the salon, I'll find a good spot"
B: "Five minutes man, and I'm coming after you."
A: "Okay, I'll be waiting. I'll send the wp"
...
......
I remove the other person's tattoos, change a couple of other minor things, they thank me, then *they* robe up and take off. I'm left *incredibly* amused and bemused. Apparently... and I've talked with other people... apparently, we are so much in demand that the higher level chars don't want to irritate the IDer in the salon by starting a fight in the tent. -And- some word has gotten around about the ID block list for the masters on the other servers (I'm on Kauri, and if there's a black list, no one sent it to me, lol), so people don't want to risk getting blocked from ID work. They just sit quietly and wait, lol. This was my first experience with the "we can't fight here, but you found me, so we'll agree to meet somewhere else and fight in a few minutes" routine.
Terribly, terribly amusing. I'm not the only one to have seen this little sort of by-play am I?

O.O *twitches eye* I have been searching a year for an ID on Kauri and now I've found one O.O O yeah, and also YOU HAVE THE POWER!

Maybe something like this happened behind... or better between the scenes in Episode 6:
Location: Imperial Haircut-longe 237 onboard of the a not so secret military superweapon still under contruction
Not very excited to have been 'promoted' to this post (we all know what happened with the first Death star) an imperial Image Designer gets himself ready for his first day on this new assignment.
A non-destinct man in simple cloths enters the small room...
"I need a little workover... now!"
"That voice..." the ID thinks "Sounds just like the emporer himself... hey this guy should act as 'the emporer's voice' haha"
"Just make me a bit smaller... oh and can you make me look really, really old? And maybe give me some greenish skincolor?"
"Sure, whatever you like..."
While working on the man two more folks enter the room... One a bit older with some black armor but not all parts put on, the other is younger in just black plain cloth...
The first customer looks up, he's just finished... without noticing the ID he just walks out of the room, mumbling something like "Now I really hope this Tailor got my rope done..."
The two newcomers just shrug... "You go first, Dad"
"Thanks my son... erm... I need a migration... cannot fit into my new set of armor... darn AS messed up the experimentation again..."
"Dad I allways told you this armor is bad for your health... and your karma..."
"I know, I know... but it comes with the job, you know? Oh and can you do something about those scars?"
"The migration is really no problem, but I cannot remove those scars... sorry sir"
"Ack! I hate that... but you know, you are lucky... last episode I would just have chocked you to death for that answer... but I somehow don't feel like it today..."
"... erm... what about a nice holoemote then, sir? I think this imperial Insignia would suit you well..."
"Hmm... what do you think, son?"
"I don't know, dad... maybe you should take something that emphasizes your lighter side a bit more..."
"Ah shut up... I told you over and over again... stop that light side nonesense..."
*gulp* "What about this menacing deathhead holo, sir?"
"Yes, that looks nice... I take it... oh am I done allready?"
"Yes, the timer is up, sir... Anything else I can do for you?"
The scared older man puts on his last pieces of armor... *Heavy breathing* "No that's all... come now, Son... we have an appointment with your new master..."
"er... Dad, might I get a little migration myself?"
*Heavy breathing again* "I don't think you will need any migration.... only to the Dark side"
Both men leave...
The ID sighs... jeez! One of THOSE days again...

Wow, that explains why Endor doesn't have a salon. It was in the death star ROFL. Techno, that's a hilarious bit of work!

It does seem to be a trend though....I can't recall anyone fighting in the salon on Ahazi either...

Ive had something kinda similar happen to me.Ihad2 imps in the salon, both fully buffed and 1 unbuffed reb, all were overt and were there waiting as i walking into the salon (no other ID's in there and they werent fighting) and straght away the rebel sends me a tell "Can you pleeease do me first, if you do them first they will kill me as soon as your done" i was dumbfounded. So iworked onhim first as he was technically the "first in line" with his tell. As soon as i started working on him one of the imps simply said "aww that sux". As soon as i finished he ran off and i proceeded to work on the other 2.
I got the impression that the salon is treated like some kind of "holy ground" as if it would be like fighting in a church. was rather amusing.
Oh and if theres an 'ID black list' on Valcyn i have a few more entries for it.

I wouldnt entirley agree with you on that. I am a Master ID on Kuari, and work exclusively out of Theed. Though now that I have my own ship I may do a little traveling. I have never seen it used as a "holy land" I had as an example two jedi and initiate and padawan come in and kill an overt imp while he was waiting in line. I have seen several "gank" squad people come in and hide out or pour in to wait and jump someone. I normally yell at them, and the customers will jump in telling them to leave. I like the idea that certain places should be sanctums of peace. I am a fencer but i dont pvp, and lately been droping alot of my fencing skills to do new things. So i kinda of like that black list as there are few of us IDers around we can atleast make f places in the universe a type of safe zone. But hey once you step outside your on your own buddy.

While in the tents...
People discovered a few things..
1) no pets in the tent.
2) no fighting
3) no swearing
4) no harrassing the ID staff.
what you do outside the tent is your own business.
a week of no id's in the tent at peek times really helped to eduate some players.

Sadly most combat people aren't that mature on Bria...Theed salon gets checked every once and a while by declared Jedi knights,clearing out the salon and cantina, witty remarks such as "noob","u suck",etc. included of course.
As a result he only power i have is the power to watch potentialclients getting cut in half.
Oh well...
PS: bit off-topic,but my stormie TD-Three ThreeFour has just joined the ID ranks (now 200 stat migrations to go )

Hehe, be carefull when getting assigned to a 'secret military installation'... it might be the next Deathstart that will get blown up as we all know
