If you're not too cowardly to reply to me... Although I'm absolutely positive that your only response to this will be to one-star me. That's obviously why you've gone through here and one-starred EVERYTHING. Do you just not have any sort of life? Do you really have THAT much time on your hands, that you can go through and one-star EVERY thread?
That is so sad. I am so sorry for you. But please, don't take your lack of a social life out on us. Back away from the star ratings, and leave us alone. Get your mommy to take you to the park or something.

Hrm, ya know. at least in my opinion, it's better to treat such grabs for attention with quiet repose instead of acknowledging it.
Most likly it isn't a forum poster, or someone inclined to post here anyway.

Sorry, but that's never been my way of dealing with it. I get tired of coming here and seeing all the one-starred threads, and I want to make sure our little trolling friend knows of my displeasure. Of course I know he's not going to actually POST. That would take courage, something he obviously has none of, or he wouldn't be hiding behind his computer screen, giggling childishly as he gleefullydispenses one-star ratings like candy.
Perhaps he needs a diaper change, and that's why he's so cranky. Poor little baby.

I have to agree: if you think someone wrote crap here (or whereever), then tell him/her with answering to the post and not just to one-star it.
But somehow I have the feeling that somewhere on this small planet some kiddos now sit giggeling infront of their dadies Computer and think they are soooooooo cool... or something like that...

I am kind of curious as to who it is doing the one starring. I could care less that they are doing it (I don't even have my ratings on), I am kind of just curious as to why.
All I can think of is some people might disagree with a topic or a statement but might lack in the verbal capacity to come up with a reason why. So rather than reply with a rebuttle, they one star it as their way to show that they disagree.
... either that or they really are just losers who like to try to put people down. It is like being in middle school: insult others or they might insult you.

Most likly Mawie, it is the later, brought on by resentment of the Stat Migration change.
And frankly, I just don't feel that calling 'em out does anything besides give them the anonymous attention that they were subconsciously seeking.

I've kind of always found feeding trolls to be a good thing.
They gotta eat, too.
OH, you mean FORUM trolls... not those little guys with the funny hair and the jewels in their bellies...
And maybe by giving them attention they will stop their resentment? Perhaps this is more therapeutic than anything...

Heh, because I feel the issue I derailed this thread into is worth discussion mostly

.And no, I doubt that it'll do anything for their resentment, if anything not giving it attention will make it seem like their petty actions are more futile and NOT drawing a rise out of us as is their intent. By giving them the rise they desire, you simply encourage them to propagate such behavior instead of provide constructive commentary.
That said, the star system is probably the single feature I hate most about these boards. Nice in concept on smaller boards, but just not appropiate here.
