With all the bitc...*coughs* I mean, well thought out posts complaining about ID "usefulness" we keep seeing lately (I always thought changing an Av's appearance was a pretty clear use personally )... I was wondering if other IDs would be interested in providing Inspirations like the Performance Ents.

All IDs can Inspire since it's given at the Novice Ent box, but you have to do it by dancing or playing. I think it would be cool to be able to do it as an ID... and also, it would just be nice to have a common thread with all three Ent Profs.

Elite Inspirations are coming down the pipes for Musicians and Dancers, would IDs be interested in possibly getting their own version?

visually yes, but not anything having to do with the game play.

all the 'special effects' in the world, glitter to glowing, but please no actual buffs for increase/decrease/chance of/success of/failure/mod type thing.

I enjoy ID being about Image Design.

My idea about this was to give IDs the ability to create the lightshow elements dancers and musicians can create, too... and maybe add some really fancy ones for IDs only so an ID can handle the lightshow during a gig and would tie them into the inspiration system.

So you got some musicians, some dancers and one or two IDs as a Band to inspire the spectators.

Well just an idea I had about this.

Perhaps making the holoemotes somewhat functional would be a good idea. For example, an ID could grant a holoemote to a player which could blind enemies, like a bright flash. It would give a small edge in battle and would have 20 charges, same as any other holoemote.

Hmm... I'm not sure if this wouldn't lead us into a situation, many of us won't like... something like this:

(Customer 1) (during a session) "Yes, please, lets have a look at those lipcolors again..."

(Customer 2 enters location) "You ID?"

(ID) "Yes, let me finish on this customer, then I can come to you."

(Customer 2) "Just load my BE and I'm gone again"

(ID) "? You want me your Bio Engineer???"

(Customer 2) "Blind Emote u noob!"

...

erm... I think you got me... well I doubt it would be as bad as stat migrations...

But I just had a complete different idea allthough I'm not 100% sure about it yet... just another idea... :

Why not give the ID the ability to create (not actually craft, more like record) an inspiration-buff-renewal-kit... or in less technical terms: record a short performance of a dancer adn/or musician to save on the datapad and sell. So if an inspirationbuff of any kind (maybe there will be more than one some day in the future) is about to run out you can activate this recording to make it last half an hour longer (or something like that).

Well just another crazy idea

I've always thought there should be some way for Ents to 'sell records' so to speak. My thoughts had always been that they could act as 'in the field' buffs. Of course that would have been just pulled people even farther away from the cantinas and their denizens, so I didn't think it could work. BUT if it only worked to extend a current inspiration for a short time, I see that as working quite well, I think. To be totally honest, it is around 5Am here, and I am not entirely coherent.

Anyways, I like the idea OF recordings, IF it doesn't remove the live Ent from the process.

Just because stat migrations sucked, I don't think we should necessarily abandon the idea of having a more functional ability. I think the key is to make it useful but not absolutely necessary (i.e. buffs were "necessary" while inspiration buffs are useful but not necessary). In addition, it's absolutely imperative that ID's are able to register somewhere! The easier it is to find an available ID, the less likely that a busy or off-duty ID will be hassled.

Given that ID's can already completely change their look at will, I'd like to see:

ID's able to save multiple looks, and restore them at will (like the number system of old, just a saved bunch of setting for the avatar's physical details.

Instead of buffs, I thought it might be interesting to have ID's take part in performances in another way - as actors and actresses.

Heck, there's already a "stage makeup" blurb in the ID skillboxes.

Basically, any elite Entertainer could gather up some ID's, and have them "put on their makeup," then they could allow someone to "direct" them and actually act out a play or skit or something - using patrol points, and making them speak at will.

Of course, this demands total consent by the ID to be "directed." It could also be accomplished by some new interface that could aid in directing.

I think it would allow for some cool player content performances, beyond playing music or dancing. It'd also be a good reason to totally overhaul theaters, player and NPC.

It would definitely be nice to be able to "save" a player's appearance in an inventory item or a datapad item. That way, a player could "upload" his old appearance before changing it for a party. It would also enable an ID to create a look and save it for later (i.e. "make me look like Luke Skywalker").

It isn't related to inspiration, but a system to save looks would really be nice...

I think I like the idea of saving a design. I change my look everytime I change my outfit, I would love to be able to save the look that way I dont have to try to remember exactly how I had everything set.

Have to agree and disagree No one really ever looks at registration for entertainers (and sure never did for doctors) so adding this, while potentially useful won't really do much in practice I don't think. Sadly

As for getting some "useful" feature, I'd rather not. ID is fun as it is and every time the developers "help" some profession it just ends up horribly it seems. So chalk me up for staying under their radar

If saved designs could be traded like schematics, then it could build into any future Fame system Ents might get. So like every time a fellowID applies one of your styles to someone else, you get a Fame point for it. That would be cool.

I also want stored, named, and tradable songs and dances. *nods*
