Us corrs have a little document we have to turn in to Thunderheart sometime next week, and I haven't even started on it o.0

I'd lovesome help with it, this past week just hasn't produced very many opportunities to sit down and write Format directly stolen from NJ's Tailor post. Please be as brief and constructive as possible. Fill in as much as you'd like I'll throw all our effortstogether. This is an excellent opportunity for the community to share thoughts with the devs - and to help me at the same time Just fill out the parts you want to. Thank youin advance!!!

I'm not sure how you can work this into this little document or one of the others you send to Thunderheart, but I feel it may do us some good. *cross fingers* Posted it earlyer in Tiaga's "Posted on the corr forum: State of the entertainers game" /rant oops I mean post

Tiaga, your 100% right but they will never listen toour needs and the results of their action, because they don't see the finacial down fall of their current actions. So I suggest a need to fucus on how improving social professions will improve their bottom line.

  • Market share; there is a large growingmainly untapped female gamer and social gamer market thatSWG hassome of, but they are lossing. The money to be made in this market could easly be in in the billions.

  • It takes money to make money; it is pass time to hire a social devs team! The current dev teams are great at what they do, and need to keep working on combat parts of the game. But to really tap into the social gammer market a new dev team is needed, and like the current dev team there will be a 10x return on the investment.

  • Don'tlook at other failures; The Sims Online was a big failure to into the social gammer market, but failed for reasonsSWG will not incounter. TSO failed to see that spouses would not mind player hitting on and flirting with real people, instead of NPC like in The Sims. Thus thisis why it failed and is something you need not take into account in deciding to invest.

  • TV viewer market is decreasing; With the ever shrinking market of viewers of TV, that are looking for new sources of at home entertment, the the money to be made is.... well you can guess how big it could be and I'm sure SWG is already tapping into it, but with a good social aspect of SWG that can grow.

  • How big should the team be? Answer: How big of the market share do you want? bigger the team the bigger the market share.

I'll see what come up withfor this little document

Combat Role Summary

This is the heart of our problems, for the most part IDers do not want to be a combat or combat support profession. Instead we like to think of ourselves as an Aesthetic Support Role of SWG that supprts all characters combat, crafting, entertianing, healing, noobe and old character alike.

Great post Voor, I did see it in Tiaga's thread. I feel more and more the social playstyle is being recognized as a widespread and important one with unique needs. Can't squeeze it in here but I'll certainly keep your thoughts in mind

I started writing a reply to this…but by the time I got to the second combat-related item I started thinking "Why am I even bothering?" Until the SWG team recognizes that not only does not everyone want to be engaged in combat, but that their own game design encourages non-combatants, and begins to treat us as the unique individuals we are, rather than simply chaff, there's absolutely no point.

In other words, "wait until the combat balance." Maybe after they get that out of their system we can convince them that we still exist and we aren't going anywhere. They need to recognize us for what we are, not try to shoehorn us into a combat-centric playstyle.

This should take about the same time as getting dancer and musican arm of entertainer. I havent experinced it under the new system but whne i did it it toke me a couple of hours to do it. Realistically it should take about 6 hours of game play to antain.

Novice ID - Master ID

I would keep the interface as it is but as you gain each tree you should get a speed reducation. I would also boast the XP for changes. So for each tree you would get a 20% reducation and when you get Master you get another 20% reduction. That would mean that Masters will be able to ID with no timers.

List of ID abilities and what they involve

I'm happy with the skills we have now. We shouldn't be able to change race or gender.

What is fun / not fun, useful / not useful for each ability

Holo emotes are usless. I'd rather had things like Tattos and more hair stlyes etc than them.

Combat Role Summary

Grrr i hate the Stat migration thing as it means i have queues of people lining up waiting for an hour or more while i do stat migrations. The ID speed ups the i have talked about should also apply to stat migrations, well maybe a 10% reducation per tree. As for combat stuff we should be allowed to ID Jedi's and TEF'd people like change there skin colour os they can hide from BH's. By getting ID'd a BH would lose his track on you. Also if you used the imperial or rebel holo emotes you should get a tef.

I don't see how a Master Image Designer can support combat in any fashion. If I wanted to go into combat, then I would take up a combat profession to help defend myself. That's why we have the extra skill points to do so. We are an entertaining class of players that help bring out other players characters and their roles in the best possible way. Either if it's musically, physically or role play wise, we need to keep in mind that we are a support profession, not combat.

The form he gave us was for everyone to use and some of us (crafters, ents) are modifying it to fit our professions. The reason combat and GCW are included is those revamps are coming up very soon and they want to know what each profession would like to see happen.

Top 5ways the profession could better fit the social playstyle (andHOW each would accomplish that) I made this one upin lieu of "combat"
1/ Hire a social dev team.Any other recommendations would be pointless to post, do to the current dev's focus on combat only professions

2/ Hire a social dev team.

3/ Hire a social dev team.

4/ Hire a social dev team.

5/ Hire a social dev team.

Sorry Kwee, I'm going to pass. I've concluded that the development team is going to do what it d@mn well pleases regardless of what the ID community thinks. Nothing I write will make the slightest difference in what happens to the profession.

Thank you to those who gave suggestions. Guess I was right not to expect aid in this

Kwee…it's not that we don't want to help you. And it's not that we don't want to see positive change to the profession. The problem is that we spent all this time being constructive and positive and patiently waiting our turn, and now that our turn's come we've found that all our work has been for naught. So we got (understandably) angry…and now we're over that. We gave positive and constructive another shot…and got an increased emphasis on stat migrations and some background music. What are we supposed to think here? That the devs are listening and have our best interests in mind? They haven't shown us that…and we're reluctant to waste our time writing more well thought out, constructive posts, when from our point of view they do absolutely nothing in the long run.
