Last night, I was soloing the NPC missions from the Emperor's Retreat, and got stuck at the mission to capture the Slicer. He would always aggro, no matter what. And he would always die if you even looked funny at him. Extremely frustrating. Another player and I were both stuck at this mission (caused by our negative Thug faction standing, he thinks), and had both attempted it repeatedly, over and over again
Until we decided to work together! Here is what we did:
1 - We both took our slicer missions from the NPC (Loam), but we stayed together.
2 - When we got near the Slicer, the person who owned him would get off his bike outside of aggro range.
3 - The other person, buffed, would ride his bike right up to the Slicer and let him aggro. He would stay on the bike to prevent counterattacking. Since we were both buffed, this wimpy Slicer wasn't hurting us at all, and that player could just sit there and take the attacks.
4 - Once the Slicer aggroed, themission owner would set to /follow the Slicer, and automatically walk right up to him. Nice thing here is that the Slicer already has his attention on the guy with the bike.
5 - When the mission owneris next to the Slicer, has the radial menu up, and 'Converse' is highlighted, the guy on the bike flys away.
6 - In our situation, the Slicer didn't even give chase. He just stood there until he gave up on the rider and went non-aggro again.
That is the moment to converse with him!
Once you converse, the Slicer cries like a baby that you caught him! Woohoo!
After an hour of working seperately on this misison, we bagged him together. And the awesome bonus was that when it worked for just one of us, we both got credit for finishing the mission. woot! This was a serious adrenaline rush for the both of us, and made our day!
I'm sure this kind of teamwork would work in any similar situation as well. So find a buddy, people! It pays in the end

2 solutions i know of
Make a macro:
/peace;
/conv;
/macro blah;
Then just walk away from him till he gets bored and ull conv him before he aggro's again.
Another solution (dont know if this has been fixed but it did work) was to kill the mob then /conv on his corpse. Bingo, mission success.
Gratz on doing it tho

Another option is to use /conv at adistance unless they changed it.

You can also kill him, then target , and "/conv." Not really all that immersing, but it works!

The conv distance is less than 10 meters now, at least for this guy. Hence the difficulty. I didn't know you could converse with a corpse though. Sounds like that John Edwards guy on the Sci Fi channel. Wait! this IS sci-fi, lol.

/conv still works fine from 50m or less.. I have done this mission in the last week and they havent changed it. Half of hte missions aggro you, and the only way to do it is with /conv
