Has anyone got any ideas why my backslash "\"key doesnt work in this game??

any help would be great thanks.

What sort of keyboard do you have? UK, US, Finnish, Swedish ect

The backslash key on the UK keyboard has never worked in this game, which explains why English players can't do funky signage of their buildings and whatnot.

I requested this fix around 9 months ago, and nothing has been done about it to this day.

The backslash key on the UK keyboard is located to the left of the 'Z' key, whereas the US keyboard has it located to the left of the '1' key (opr thereabouts).

Please fix this, devs!

EDIT: You can always remap your keyboard to US layout in Windows, but no self-respecting Brit would ever do that!

Tip: (works at least on Swedish layout)

Activate chat window (if you are using modal chat), or just type the backslash in it.

copy it into clipboard (easier if you type some characters before and after it, those tiny weeny backslashes are hard to catch

Don't know how to do it: this needs remapping in options/controls/keymap: copy and paste are non-assigned by default; I have reassigned them to ctrl-shift-C and ctrl-shift-V, respectively since I am using the default keyboard layout (ctrl-C and ctrl-V are taken).

paste it to structure name, waypoint name etc.

hence, no need to leave your favourite keyboard layout.

Disclaimer: tested on Swedish keyboard only. No responsibility taken from any adverse side effects on other keyboard layouts.

Simple copy and paste from WinDoze does the trick on the UK layout.

I have a Belgian/Dutch keyboard and I use the copy and paste method. But being an AZERTY keyboard my backslash is actually to the left of the 'W' key.

They may have it on their 'to do' list but it's probably very low on that list.

Easy solution: Use the options of the game and remap the command to another key
