Depends on what profession you are...a swordsman cannot take out an elder in 5 mins, but a rifleman can with ease just by kiting....no other profession can kill an elder in less than 30 - 45 minutes. That's speaking solo of course.

Anyway, equilibrium is one mod that completely negates the dizzy effect after it recovers you from a KD State. When equilbrium works, you always stand back up 100% of the time without falling back down when your dizzy. At least from the observations that I've witnessed. Unfortunately, the only professions that have equilibrium are fencer and TKM and neither one of those are ideal for taking on elders, although TKM is good for all other nightsisters, but fencer isn't.....so it's best to dabble in those to get the defense mods.

However, if you get your KD/Dizzy defenses up....it is hard for you to get hit by both and they stickat the same time. When I had my KD def at 100 and my dizzy at 90 with 30 equilibrium (also had SEA's but didn't include them here, just the base mods from profession dabbling), I rarely got affected by both KD and dizzy at the same time. THen when I did, I always had a chance for equilibrium to work or I wasn't effected by the states very long and I could get back up after 2 or 3 times at the most.

RIght now though, my KD/dizzy def is 20 and 15 (rifleman and TKM).....with that, I get KD/dizzy all the time by nightsisters....but as long as I am unarmed or have my vk's equipped and my nice 80% kinetic armor, I can withstand being KD/Dizzy for a while. TKM's toughness helps and of course the armor makes a difference, but I make it a priority to stay out of 40m range when fighting NS. THe only time I close in is when I have to take on those that only have low resist to kinetic and blast (protectors, stalkers, spellweavers...etc), rifles are useless then.....good thing CURB will change that....looks like all professions will get equal damage types (except for TKM, though looks like they will get 2 or more damage types also)

So the main point is to be prepared. If your nothing more than a swordsman or a single profession (even TKM), you will suffer in a lot of areas defensively. This is the major drawback of people who think that offense is the best route to go in this game. THis is why I always tell anyone to think defensively first, because it doesn't matter how powerful you are in pve, as long as you can last long due to having high defense, you have all the time in the world to kill your opponent. PVP is different, so you have to make your choices wisely if you do both pve and pvp. Just know that you can't be the best in both. If you want that powerful offense for pvp then you'll suffer a bit defensively in high end PVE and vice versa. At that point, you will have to use tactics as your defense. For example, a riflemans best defensive tactic is to kite all opponents period. There is no other defense a rifleman can do to survive long against high level mobs.....whereas, a TKM can survive a long time in close or at range due to def acuity chances and toughness, it's just that at range, they can't land any attacks and so being at range is very bad...so it's all the more important that you have high KD/Dizzy when you have to fight within 20m range. Having 100 KD is more important than having a 5k damage special that gets mitigated down to less than 1k due to the mobs defenses. So while your hiting them for less than 1k per attack, an elder or any other high level NS can hit you for upwards of 10k damage.....in this case, which is better, that defense or that powerful offense.....actually, medic is probably more important then...but again, medic is a supporting anddefensive profession.....it recovers from damage, not do damage or mitigate any damage.

Anyway, the basis of any kind of combat, whether it's high level or low level, pve or pvp, is to come prepared. If that means you need a tank, bring one....if it means you need ranged support, then bring one.....if it means you need to defensive stack with fencer, pistoleer or TKM, then do it, if you need chef foods, buy'em. IN the end, it all boils down to being more effective and productive and spending less time on your back and in the cloning facilities.

OK Combat 101.2 lesson is over now....LOL

Did you ever know that the more you hit Stand, the more chance you have of falling down?

You could get up pretty quickly - even when dizzy - if you're lucky and patient. Just hit Stand one time and then wait for the message, "You are so dizzy you fall down" and then press it one time again. Do this until you see, "You stand up." Then don't press Stand or Kneel or anything that changes your posture. Every time you change posture there is about a3 in 4 chance you will fall down when dizzy. So if you just spam stand you may see this:

You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You stand up.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You stand up.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You stand up.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You are so dizzy you fall down.
You don't feel dizzy anymore.
You stand up.

Now, you have just been laying on the floor taknig massive damage for much longer than you had to because you didn't pressStand once and wait for the message before pressing it again.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

I often wonder if there is much truth to strat in this game.

Hand of God seems to play more into it.

Buff 2550, Mind Buff 750, 2 Brandi, full comp, Scythe speeed 2.1/ Max 360 and I will stand in 5 Initiates and a Ranger and be surrounded by dead NS in 2 minutes.

Go back the next day, Identical situation and have 3 Initiates send me to the cloning facility.
