Thread: Announcing SWG Macro Magic

I love using macros but hate editing them in game. To rectify the problem I have developed SWG Macro Magic.

SWG Macro Magic is a .NET (c#) Windows application that will allow you to load and edit your SWG macros. There is a database of existing macros that is included to make new macro creation easier than ever. With SGW Macro Magic you can load, save, edit, reorder, etc.

You can download the install package at www.bluefrogserver.com

PLEASE NOTE: This software is provided free of charge and is in no way associated with SOE/LucasArts, etc. It is in the very early stages of development so please backup your macros before trying it.

Also, I am looking for people to help me expand my database to include as many working macros as possible. The DB is in Microsoft Access and is included in the install package...

Cool. Thanks for thinking of the community when making this available. =)

(oh and your link needs an "http://" before it)

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Thanks. I fixed the link. I wasn't sure if I had the proper permissions...

Does this program edit the macro.ini file?

I've been manually editing mine using a text editor, just so that I can get custom macros listed in order on the command browser.

It would be nice to create "the ultimate" macro.ini file that has all combat specials and moves in it but the SWG system is a bit too long winded and fiddly.

I'll give your app a try and see how it goes.

This program parses the macros.txt file located in your '\StarWarsGalaxies\profiles\%accountname%' folder. You can edit and reorder macros with it.

Again, this is in the very early stages of development so please backup your macros.txt file before trying it out. Also, there is a support forum on my site so please feel free to post any bugs that you find there or in this thread here.

Hope this helps...

Also, if anyone cares to look through the DB that's included with the install package and let me know if there is anything missing that would be great.

I think the real value of this project will be having the most comprehensive DB of macros available to the user. That's the main reason I use it myself. That and to avoid having to type in that weird little window...
