I have two monitors set up on my computer. Sometimes when I play I like to check on the internet, only I have to alt-tab to get there, even if its on the other screen. This minimizes SWG so I can't see it at the same time I am browsing. Are there settings that will let me move my mouse back and forth between the two screens and clicking the other monitor, without minimizing SWG?

I dunno, that sounds more like something you should take up with the manufacturer of your video card. I'm not sure what kind of card you have, but if it's new enough, there may be some dual-monitor application on your driver CD to help you with this.

I tried this a couple months ago, but SWG either blanked out the other monitor or crashed (or both) every time. It might just be related to my video card (ATI... ugh), but I have a feeling that it's just sloppy programming on the part of SOE, as usual. FYI, all other applications I tried worked fine on dual monitors.

Try it again. I think windowed mode will solve your problem.
I usually start in full screen mode and switch to windowed if I need to (ALT + Enter). Once in windowed mode I can ALT + Tab all I want and still see most of the SWG screen.

thanks for everyone's replies
I finally was able to get it working right. I have an ATI 9800 Pro, had to make sure the refresh rate for the game was the same as the desktop, and that both monitors were in 32 bit color mode.
thanks again

I have been thinking of doning this, so I can accses guides etc while playing. I think it qould be great if they would enable a 2 screen mode where you could have chat windows, note pad , Friends list etc on one screen and the playing area on the other.
Just a thought, thanks for all the tips for when I try the regular 2 screen system.

I currently run two monitors and don't have any problems opening up other windows. Just run SWG in windowed mode. If it doesn't work it sounds like it's your video card or drivers.

I run two monitors using an ATI 9600XT and love it, play SWG in windowed mode on the left side and have a browser up with forums or whatever on the right.
It may work without windowed mode if you set your in-game resolution the same as your desktop resolution. If they're different then when you load into the game it changes your desktop and that moves your other windows all around.

i tried playing the game in windowed mode so i could troll the forums and i hated it. all the colors on the game were diluted and ugly.
