i have no idea where i would post something like this so sorry if its in the wrong one, the organization of these boards sucks, where can you dicuss general game stuff? well anyways i think that its very important that the devs include all of the previous publishes with the new expansion. the download time when you reinstall is ridiculous. i would save over an hour every time i reinstall if i didnt have to download those damned updates.

It is a pain, but there is a way around it...

Copy all of the hotfix and patch .tre files out of your SWG install directory and onto a CD. When you reinstall, copy them back in. The all you have to do is run the program, it may download one or two files, do a full scan to make sure everything is good, and BLAMO! Fully updated without 2 gigs worth of downloads!

Be cool for the people with Dial-up access to be able to request a CD at a small fee inorder to install, + have most of the past patchs included just incase you have to re-install the game or your pc at anytime. Last time I had to reinstall over DSL not long ago it still took just over one hour without JTL.

I think it probably will - I believe JTL had all the publishes upto its launch included on the cd? This means when I have to re-install, I install SWG, then install JTL and voila - much less to download

If you bought SWG, does it have all the recent publishes on it..up to date?

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

I just burn my SWG folder onto a DVD+RW every now and then.... if I need to reinstall, not much patching for me.
