Currently, something has to be done about how completely different each servers population is. Some servers (Example: Bria) have hundreds of people in major populated cities such as Coronet and Theed. Other servers, however, have suffered and continue to suffer a very low population. Such servers may see 20 or 30 people in one of these places on a good day. Bad days for these unfortunate servers may just have the occasional spammer or two. And people who play on such small servers have the unfortunate luck of waiting to get groups together to go venture out into the wilderness, let alone find a good doc when they need one.
A way to temporary fix this problem would be to implement a locking of players to choose any server they want apon character creation. This would prevent them from just jumping to the highest populated server and get lesser servers a chance to grow. This could be done by having this new character randomly and automaticlly join one of the lower populated servers after he or she presses the ok button after completing they're character.
There would also be a way to choose what server you go to if you joined the game to roll play with your friends. This could be done by having the devs place key npcs arround the galaxy. By talking to these key npcs, you can acquire a unique key that will allow you to join a designated server. The key that one would acquire wouldn't last forever and eventually, it wouldnt allow you to use it to access that galaxy unless a person goes and grabs a new key. This place where this could be used is a screen before or after your character is built. It could ask you if you have a key to join a server or if you dont.
This whole method wouldn't be nearly as hard as a server merge and it's entirely feasible. What's everyone take on this? Think it's a good idea?

The Character Transfer Service was created for a reason.
I really think you should consider using it, or starting a new, identical character on a more populated server.
It's rude of you to force people to stay. It defeats the purpose of the CTS, and so would the NPC 'tickets' of which you speak.
It's spelled petition.
A partition creates a separation and would create a decrease, the exact opposite of what you seek.
Honestly not ripping on you, justtrying to giveyou the chance to edit your subject to better get your point across
to those who would support it.
I agree that server consolidation appears like it could be a good thing to do. None of us have the numbers to know for certain.
However I think you need to put more thought into a better solution, and I look forward to hearing it.

First of all I dont think this is the right forum for this kind of topic. An secondly a better option would be suggesting that Newbies join lower population servers instead of forcing them to do so. Currently we suffer from the problem of everyone knowing that Bria has the biggest population so everyone keeps going there just to be with most of the people. I kind of hope that server explodes just so people have to spread out some. But anyway back to what I was saying they could offer bonus stuff to people on low population servers. It also probably would not hurt if Character Transfer allowed you to take 100 items with you. This used to be a problem since people could bring resources with them but hell with the new resource kits that's not such a big deal anymore. They could just not allow people to bring resources or components with them. Then if they made some attractive bonus stuff it might get some people off of those crowded servers.
