Thread: A few suggestions.......

don't mean to complain, but here is a few ideas I want to run through

1) Schematics from Quests and NPCs/Missions/Themeparks - I understand that these are supposed to be limited, but c'mon 1 or 2 craftable items only from them? Either make them like most schematics with 5 availabilities or make them more accessable. Like the Scythe one.

2) Themeparks loot - I know when the pub came out, ppl was able to redo the parks that did it before so they can get their badges, but alot of folks would like to get the loot some more too. I being a WS find it a refreshing part of the game to get some nice Stocks or Scopes that enhance some of the weapons I do. We should be able to redo the themeparks as often as we want

3) Schematic Parts - De-10 Barrels, Powerplants, Berserker Stabilizers - any of these ring a bell? these are the most hard to find parts of all schematics. Allows us to make these items and that which is looted is a better quality of these products.

I have gotten 10 de-10 schematics and not 1 barrel. c'mon

4) Schematics for hard to get items - Jabba Sword (cant remember its name), Power Cubes, De-10 Barrels, Berserker Barrels - allows us to get schematics to make these items.

5) Loot and XP = to Creatures - I am tired of hunting a krayt and killing it after 5-20 minutes of battle to come up with 4-5k XP and NO LOOT, yet I can kill a Meatlump for 200 XP and get a Lootkit piece (worth 75k approx) or a Locked container (10k) or a crystal (20-300k) - creatures here should be done just like AD&D does, the higher the creatures, the more XP and loot you get a chance of getting. a Janta is 10-13kHAM which should equal about 3-5k XP. a Krayt or NS Elder has 250-350k HAM should yealed no less than 30k XP andsome good items on them.

6) Party/Solo Loot Drops - if you can solo it, the more the loot is yours. but if you are in a group that can loot it, then when ppl go to loot it, they get 1-10+ items each from it. a group of 20 ppl killing an ancient krayt dragon (which is rare as it is) should get either some tissues, pearls, segments, scales, or anything else random, maybe a nice rifle from its belly from a poor tuskin that happened to get eaten by it

7) respawn rates of creatures - NPcs like Jants, Mokks, Maurauders, etc or Acklays, Fire Spiders, Gorax, etc in caves and static cities or locations should respawn more frequently.. to get 1 buff and hope you can fight 1 Acklay every 2 hours and after you fight it, you get no loot and end up having to go get rebuffed is redundant. every 30 minutes-1 hour is better for these to respawn.

8) Corvette, DWB, Geonosian Cave Spawns Erratic - SBDs with 300k ham? c'mon folks. ppl ignore these like the plague by WALKING past these are just hoping on a bike and running away. why? NO LOOT and no reward for its destruction. the DWB is more of a joke that the Corvette is. most folks can NOT get past the first room with out 2-6 SBDs laying them to waste.

9) Build Zones on Endor/Dathomir/Talus/Yavin - before when the game first started, few folks got homes or harvesters placed., but then a patch stopped that since. We need to now allow ppl to build on these planets. with the lack of CITY lots on each planet dwindling, these planets need to allow for new cities to emerge.

10) removal of Shuttle times at Space Ports - can anyone say Theed? this is the spaceport that everyone uses cause there is no wait time. we need this at all spaceports. one main reason why? LOWERS LAG from too many folks every 10 minutes waiting inside and around the SP droid waiting for a shuttle. on any bad night, you can have 50-200 ppl all at coronet waiting to move on. UPDATE - SHUTTLE TIMES LOWERED TO 5 MINUTES IN PATCH 9.3 - GOOD JOB DEVS

11) More Shipping lanes - look at the galaxy map and see what is wrong there? Naboo can go to Lok and Tat and Rori and Coronet, but Tat and Lokcan not go to Rori? can we either add more shipping lanes or make it where you can buy a ticket from Dant and fly to Lok w/o having to hit Coronet and Tatt/Naboo first. This would end alot of travel times and alot of lag from ppl showing up on planets they do not want to be at.

12) Lost Connections - I am tired of getting full buffs (all 9 stats) and durring the middle of a fight or doing a simple task, like Concealshot from the prone position and crawling, and that game boots me, and when I come back, all the info for the timers on my buffs are gone, but the buffs are still there. I hate not knowing when I got buffed and whether the next fight I pick with a Krayt is going to be my last cause I will lose my buff when it is down to 10k ham left.

13) CAs/AAs/SEAs need fixing, PERIOD - I know everything in this game has a serial number/code attached to it, and when I go to use a 2 or 3 MOD attachment and lose 1-2 of those attachments, thenI get ticked. Let's get this fixed ASAP. And if someone loses an attacment like this, it is very easy for a DEV/CSR to look at the offended object it was placed in and tell what was added with in the last 10-30 minutes so they can remove the attachment and try to fix it. Also, they need to make it where these are stackable once again. if I have 4 CAs that have 4 different numbers of + to wpn smith expr, then I should be able to use them all to TOTAL the numbers on them, instead of being stuck with losing the other 3 MODS cause they are lower than the Highest. I do not mind the numbers going to a CAP in the game, but the clothing/armor itself should not be capped.

14) Music/Dance buffs should equal Doctor Buffs - Docs can buff up to 2k-2.6k stats and 2.5-3.5 hrs in their buffs, the emtertainers should also be able to do this too. nothing more crazy to have a 3 hr Doc buff and your mind buff wears off 1 hour before it and you need special moves to kill that NS Elder. And the max the Dance/Music buffs can go is 100% of what that players current stats are. (up to 105% if they have the clothing with the approptiate attachments added). but sheesh, that still doesn't help. and the times should be increased for longer times. a 2-4 minute buff now yealds a 1 hour to 2 hour buff. but anything past the 4 minutes, is still a 2 hour buff.make it a 2-6 minute buffs yeald 1-3 hours time. and 1k-3k HAM buffed.

15) Insta removal of buffs. - nothing like being 26 minutes from your buff being done, and a group mate is the only doctor there and he has buffed everyone at 3 hrs for the DWB and you have to be DBed in order to geta new buff. Please put in a way or a /ui action commandthat allows us to re-nig or end current buffs immeditatly.

16) I died, but I am still Full of food and/or Drink - Once you die, all these stats should be erased too.

17) SEAs Spawn Rates - it is extremely hard to find any good SEAs and when you get one, it is for a skill no longer used (grenade EXPR is an example). and if you find a +1 wpn experimentation, you can either use it and hope you find 9 more others to go up that 1 (ONE) point of experimentaion, or sell it on the forums in an auction that see folks paying 1-5 million for this item. bring up the spawn rates and make them able to be STACKED (see #13 above).

18) Emails of Friend's Harvesters/Homes you are Admin to - If you have used a friends LOTS to place harvesters and then lose some of them cause you didn't KNOW when they went bad, you aint the only one. anyone on the ADMIn of the home or property SHOULD be emailed to that the item is either low of power or maintenance needs to be paid.

19) Merchants Timer Removal - anyone who owns a private vendor should feel the same way I do, when you have 200-1k items on your vendor, it is frustraiting to get every 30 days, that main emails in your inbox all stating that they are unsold and that you have 7 days to remove them or resell them. We need to have this timer system removed from the Private Vendors. the Bazaars is fine, as it deletes the LAG of the cities, but because nothing in private homes come into the server unless you actually and physically walk into the home itself, this time should be removed.

20) SWG Forums Login Timer - please give us the option to remained logged in the Forums as long as we want. things like the IE crashing or like this long post, takes time to do, and when after a certain length of time, one has not pressed a link or button, the Forums force us to re-login each time. This is annoying as H3LL. please either add a timer of staying logged in between "this session" to "1 year" into the forums.

anyone else can think of anything?

Very good ideas, all of them. And yes, this stupid timer on the forums is absolutely stupid, as well

I want to provide some constructive suggestions and comments about SWG on the professions I have played up until now. I have submitted these at the feedback section aswell but the problem is that no one can discuss the suggstions there. Having said that i think is would be nice to have a suggestions section on the Forums aswell so that people can discuss other peoples ideas in an apropriate section of the foums. Unfortunatly there is no such section atm so i'll have to post this here some of these things may have already been borught forward by other people but rest assured i did not copy nor steal anything, just cam up with them while playing SWG last night and having spent a few hours online not really achieving anything....

Bounty hunter

The BH Mission Terminals are doing my head in sometimes. If I want to search for a particular Jedi it can take up to 1 hour to find that Jedi because the just like normal mission terminals the BH terminals pull random mission upon refreshing. This results in me seeing Jedi A 10 times in a period of time while seeing Jedi D only once for example.

Suggestion: To counter this unneeded wait you could make the BH terminals work like a vendor. Have a second tab on the BH terminals that separates Human players (explanation to follow further down) form the NPC missions. Have the Human players tab function like a vendor listing them all sorted by Bounty price and you can just go to next page just like on a Vendor to search for other Jedi. That way you don’t have to refresh and prevent showing me some Jedi 10times and other just once or not at all in the same timeframe.

Suggestion: Why did I call the second tab human player? Well that’s coz I think it would be awesome if every player could place a bounty on anyone’s head no matter what profession the target is. A player could go to a BH terminal hit submit bounty on the radial menu. Then enter the name and the bounty price and maybe a little background story into a window. Also a player could choose to be listed as anonymous or choose to display he’s name as the client who made the bounty. That way everyone is subjected to being hunted, even the bounty hunters themselves

I think these 2 things would make the Bounty hunter profession so much more fun to play.

Merchant:

Nothing really wrong with the merchant profession itself but I do feel the vendors at times are just to time consuming to handle and I was always under the believe that games should be fun to play and not time consuming by trying to get stuff on the vendor.

The current system removes every item that has been on for 29days23hours and has not been sold to the Stockroom. Now this is the first thing I don’t understand. Why do things have to be removed form the For Sale tab? My vendors ain't a bazaar it’s a shop that sells these things and I don’t want to take them off in the first place. $

So let’s say that this is needed for the database for some reason, which would be understandable then here comes my major gripe with the Vendor system. The items that re stored in the Stockroom can only be put up for sale again in the following 2 time consuming ways: A) I have to put back every item 1 by 1 directly form the stockroom up for sale or B) I have to retrieve the items and re-add them to the Vendor 1 by 1.

Suggestion: Either get rid of the 29day timer and not place stuff that up for sale automatically onto the stockroom in the first place, or if that not possible for whatever reason at least let us choose multiple items form the stockroom and place them for sale for the same price. Example: I have 150 chairs in the stockroom, I want to put them all back on the vendor for 1300 credits each, then please let me select them all at once and enter the price and then all of them get put up for sale. It would make things so much faster for us and I really think this is needed as the game is supposed to be fun to play and not consuming my time with stuff like putting items back on for sale that I didn’t want removed form the sale tab in the first place.

Jedi: (just comments, no suggestions yet)

Nothing wrong with the FS, or Jedi grind in general I think, but what happens after a Jedi enters the FRS is beyond my understanding. How can it be in the interest of the developers of a MMORPG that people make their way up the Jedi ranks by doing fight clubs?

The problem with the FRS system is that it is impossible to get up the FRS ladder to higher ranks without fight clubbing. So naturally people are doing what they must in order to reach higher FRS ranks. While I can understand that I absolutely dislike it.

There’s this important 3 letter thing in an MMORPG and that’s RPG. While i am not a role-player myself I still don’t see how light Jedi Knights can possibly slaughter their own padawans to gain rank in the Jedi order. This is absolutely against everything a Jedi stands for and should be reviewed ASAP. I know the dev's probably don’t have time for this right now as they are working on an expansion and the CU. But I really whish and hope for a review and appropriate changes to the FRS system or for the FRS system to be replaced with something else once the expansion and the CU have been released.

Pls discuss the points brought forward

Thanks for your time.

I agree with practically everything you said, bar one thing...

The potential for player griefing here is enormous, especially so if any profession can become a target. Imagine the tailor/imagedesigner being put onto a terminal by some idiot who thinks that 10,000cr for a stat migration is over the top, and being mobbed to death by a gang of bounty hunters in their own tent. If players could place bounties, they'd simply place them on anyone who annoyed them in the slightest possible way.

Other than that, good post. Well thought-out. Constructive.

I agree about the player bounties... it does offer too many possilities for griefing, that is why imo, vis is the best way to have a player on the termis.

But BH termis should definately be more smooth, not sure if it's changed since "back in the day" but it could at least ust show the Jedi's name without opening the mission up to see who it is. When I was Bh there was only normally 2 Jedi that were ever on the termis, so it wasnt a huge issue then, but I would imagine it would be frustrating now

I definately agree with your vendors point, nothing is more annoying that reaching your vendor cap, to 30 days later have to put about 3000 items back on sale!

About player bounties. I think it would be possible to implement and keep griefing to a minimum if the bounty can only be taken by 1 BH at a time(if the mission is aborted/otherwise ended, the bounty would become available again on the terms), and it should also be rather difficult to get someone on the terms. It should not be possible for someone to walk up to a term and just offer a bounty on player x, maybe they should have to find an NPC that spawns for a limited time in one of a number of locations, and the player placing the bounty should also have to pay a (non-refundable)substantial premium to have the target listed. Also, to discourage excessive use of this to grief players, the spynet operative who provides bio-sigs should be random, instead of the same one each time.

good ideas !

the player bounty one could be connected to the GCW i.e master swords bashes one to many rebel general npcs or kill 1 to many players he could be put on terms by the faction sort of a-team style ?

also would be nice if they would distinguish between imp and rebel jedis on the terms and have a separate tab. wouldnt take much just for rebels you could have some imperial spew on dangerous jedis, then on the flip side a yoda style 'we must kill this jedi for the good of the rebellion' so instantly you know what faction the jedi is alligned TO !
