Ah yes. LucasArts. The company that causes all the problems while SOE takes all the grief.
*sigh*

I never said Lucas Arts is a genius factory, these are the people that brought us Jar-Jar andStarwars: Battlefront...
Gone are their days of Monkey Island...

For Rage of the Wookiees, yes. Combat Upgrade is part of vanilla SWG so no.
Bit confusing as both public betas will happen at the same time.

That could mean that the CU will be done before the expansion is released though.
One can but hope.

There was a comment somewhere that said with these new cybernetic arms they know Vader has one and Luke has one. Well, Luke had one at the end of ESB. When that happens, the GCW is only a few months from being won by the Rebellion. So now the GCWin SWG is coming to an end May 8 and we still dont have our GCW revamp.
Im usually pretty positive on the progress of what the devs have been doing, but I think this decision is going to reallyruin SWG if they foward the timeline. It will be such a minute GCW.SWG needs to be in a perpetual timeline between ANHand ESB,IMHO.

What facts are you basing that statement on? It seems to be a pessimistic stream of consciousness that you've typed there.
Just because they make the technology available to muck about with in game doesn't mean the timeline advances, they are just putting it in because you can see cybernetics in the movies.
You only see speederbikes (swoop is from EP II I believe) in ROTJ, but that doesnt mean they weren't around befotre that.

Plus Anakin had a cybernetic arm in Episode 2, and General Grievous existed completely made of droid parts in Episode 3.
So the technology is at the very least 20 years old roughly, if you consider SWG to follow a timeline.

Are you retarded? seriously?
How many years did George Lucas spend making new special effects so he could go back and redo Star Wars the way it was meant to be seen.
Come on he made Pixar and a whole bounch of different special effects just so he could perfect his movies.
George Lucas is a pefectionist and being the way he is so is his company.
Lucas Arts is not the problem. Its SOE. Just look at all their other games.

How DOES ass taste, Gusughost?
LucasArts is the one who made the decision to push SWG out of beta before it was ready, LucasArts is the one who made the decision to push JTL so that the combat rebalance was delayed a full year, and now LucasArts is going to push the combat balance and the new expansion before they are ready, and I'll bet money on that. Sony unfairly gets a lot of the flak for the problems in SWG.

SOE should have known that Lucasarts wants the revamp coordinated with the release. It only makes sense. Why attract 1,000s of new players to a broken unbalanced game so they can quit after a month?
Now the fire is lit under SOE to make it happen. Good call if you ask me
