Here is my problem: (no free unlocks)

i completed Whips quests and unlocked the "reflexes" tree

i trained it novice.

i then ground 175k of fs xp

on last conversion it said in spatial "you now qualify for survival 1, Ranged defence1, vehicle control 1, melee defence 1" in that specific order. (i have the screenshot)

now when i talk to nolan (sp?) he says i can only learn survival 1 (the other three are not mentioned)

he says i can learn these next when i have the xp, but ALL the lower boxes have green xp. i thought u could train any one of the branches????

please help

no, you can only unlock one branch per phase of the village.

Each quest only allows you to unlock a certain tree for each phase. For Phase 1, Whip'squest allows you to unlockthe Survival tree. Check here for a rundown of which trees become available during each phase.

The purpose of the quests is to unlock each branch (survival, ranged defense, vehicle control, melee defense) for training. When you completed the quest for Whip you should have gotten a message that you unlocked Survival. Until you complete the other 3 quests throughout the village cycle you will not be able to train the other blocks.

oh my god. there sheer insanity of this finally starts to make itself clear to me.

so, not only can u only take 1 quest from 1 npc each phase to open 1 tree, that quest only opens 1 branch of its tree per phase. (this is correct i think??)

so i can't actually unlock ANYTHING of any use to me at all this phase???

and this is BETTER than the hologrind??? hahahhahaha!!!!! laughs insanely

what a TOTAL waste of time

Yup, I had the same problem, except it was with Combat prowess.

Currently the design PENALIZES people who do not use out of game spoiler pages to read up on everything before stepping foot into the village.

So please Devs, let people make their own choices and let them worry about getting the exp they need. Don't penalize them for not reading spoiler sites.

Even better - guess what happens if you want more than one line from the same phase? Yup, you have to wait for it to cycle all the way through again. 18 weeks.

4 x 3 != 18

A full cycle is 12 weeks. Deal with it. You're not going to get all the xp you need to fill a branch in 3 weeks anyway.

LOL... yah, true. I was thinking of the six branches needed.

As for not getting the required xp in three weeks... watch me, bish.
