If I were you, I would do one of two things:

1) Make weapons powerups. Everyone wants them, you can make them. You might be able to sell them, or if nothing else, use them yourself.

2) Hook up with a novice smuggler. They need weapons and armor to get slicing xp. They will happily take your CDEF's or bone armor and use it just for slicing xp. If you have factory, make crates of CDEFs and sell them smugglers.

I'm a Wookie Artisan who is an aspiring Architect. I've been going along for awhile creating all the things I have resources for and to be honest its getting really boring and i'm not getting anywhere. I have a few more complex things that I can complete but I have the resources for them and it sounds like i need improved skills to be able to create these things needed to create the other things. Which to be honest is a bit dumb, but oh well. I was curious if it would be advantageous to just buy these parts i need to build the more complex things (armor and droid parts are needed) and just create like. Does it give quite a bit more XP for doing that or am I better off just creating crappy guns and stuff like that?
