Thanks for not ignoring.

I know this has been asked for many times, but I really feel that this is a critical need for SWG.

A role-playing server.

Please integrate it. I have asked CSRs this in the past, but they have said things like "it would be too hard...blah blah blah". Well, what is more important? We, as customers', happiness (which is money) or your ease?

Something to think about.

Very well.

A "role-playing" server would be just like any other server (in terms of static quests, professions, etc.), except the player community would consist ONLY of roleplayers. I know for a fact that there are MANY Star Wars fans who are roleplayers (a geek trait), yet cannot roleplay on a server filled with players who refuse to roleplay (or don't know how to).

Therefore, I think we should create a haven for players who wish to become another person when playing MMORPGs. It would make the game MUCH more enjoyable for roleplayers like me, and would also keep the gaming experience entertaing and fresh (regardless of the often stale content of the game).

Strict roleplaying and naming rules would have to be upheld on this server. In other words, there would be no Wookiee Jedi jackass named "WSunlockedMe" running around charging people credits to show them his lightsaber. It makes him sound like a circus sideshow instead of one who is in exile. Not to mention that other sentence sounded really dirty...

And who will be the RP enforcement cops? And the evitable narcs, and the whiners about what is 'star wars' and what is (novel readers vs. JUST the movies types)

Your RP may NOT be my RP and my money is just as valuable as yours. Ensure a world where you RP inside the ENTIRE StarWars Universe (books, novels, and the movies), I might be interested. Try to restrict to MOVIE ONLY type StarWars, I'll be SO against it you'll hear me screaming clear at the south pole.

Why must you attack someone when all they are doing is requesting something. A roleplaying server isn't a bad idea. Cops? Jeesh, you must be new to the world of online gaming. In Roleplaying Server the Server itself restricts such actions and speak like in a filter. For the most part the players themselves who join a roleplaying server basically monitor themselves. To transform into your character and be that character is something I've missed since playing dragon realms. Most online games will cater to the roleplaying population, and isn't an over the top request. Just think of it as quality gaming not quanity.

A RP server is great idea. I would definatly make a character on that server if the devs set one up. I've tried to role play on other servers but some people are really intent on just being annoying to us RPers.

A: I've been on-line (and role-playing) longer than you've probably been alive. I'm fully and completely aware of how to RP. I've played AD&D and D&D since the early '80s and on-line RPG's since their primtive beginnings on AOL, etc. and I've enjoyed them greatly.

B: My concern is, if I'm RP'ing and I pull some reference from a book, or some other source than the movie, will be be consider NOT RP'ing? That is what I am talking about. If it's restricted to MOVIE ONLY type references, then I'd be completely against it. If it includes everything Lucas has approved (books, carttons, comics, etc.) then I could get into it. I don't need some PURIST who insist on that only the movies can be referenced and used for the RP aspect.

C. A community of RP'er that regulates itself can be a good thing, as long as the company (SOE) holds the final power so some group can start dictating what's right and wrong in terms of RP'ing.
