Hello all,
I was just hoping to get some advice on finding some quests and items to pursue that suit my character at the moment. I am on the Eclipse server and have a Novice Pistoleer / Novice Combat Medic character. I am looking to do some quests and things and having completed the Huff Darklighter missions went to the Rebel Theme park. I have finished that up to getting missions from Wedge Antilles but have just found it's getting too hard. Everytime I come across a storm trooper I die. I must need more experience so I've tried just doing destroy missions on Corellia and Tatooine, however they only give very small amounts of xp given how much xp I need to advance my character. So instead I tried doing missions on Dantooine which just keep getting me killedeverytime I come across a creature.
Basically I feel like I cannot find things to do that are rewarding to my character, (give me reasonable credits and xp) but dont just get me killed every time I log in. I'm either doing things too easy or too difficult. Any advice on what things are worth pursuing given where my character is at (i.e novice pistoleer/combat medic) would be great.
Thanks for any help offered,
LBJ.

I suggest you get buffs before attempting both the themepark or any of the missions on Dantooine or any of the higher level planets. Check in Coronet, most server's Docs hang out there. Price is usually (at least on my server) 10k, max of 15k. Once you do that, Missions/Theme Parks should be no problem at all. Also, try to earn enough money to buy some good armor with Kinetic Resist, for it will keep you alive longer versus all creatures. Hope that helps

I have Novice Pistoleer, and no medic at all. The rest of my skills are all non-combet (Crafting and Merchant). I just completed the rebel Themepark solo, but with the help of my Droid. I use it to tank for me since I can't heal myself, then use my pistol specials to help take the STs down quicker. I also do not buff. While the initial expense of the droid is a bit high, over the long haul, it's much cheaper than buffing and saves time otherwise wasted waiting in line for buffs. If your droid has at least one auto-repair module, the only supplies you'll need are batteries, otherwise you may want to check into Droid Repair Kits. They are like stims for your droid, are usable by anyone, and can be used during battle.

Well I have tried buffing at 10k a buff, but still wasn't able to continue in the Rebel themepark missions. I am up to one which has me facing 3 storm troopers while I am trying to assasinate an Imperial General. The storm troopers just ripped me apart even when buffed and wearing ubses armour. Though I am not sure just how good the ubese armour I bought is.I am very interested in trying your idea of having a droid tank for me to get through the missions. Can you provide some more information on getting a droid? Like where I can buy one? (I'm on the eclipse server) What kind I should get given I want it to tank for me and how much they cost?
thanks again for your help,
LBJ.

Droid prices vary from server to server, but for an Advanced R3 with 1 combat module, 5 auto-repair modules, and Maxed Armor, you should expect to pay between 45k to 70k. Sounds a little steep, but droids last for ever, and its the only tanking droid you'll ever need. A tanking R3 like the one I just described, would be my recommendation for you. LE Repairs have more HAM, but they move so slowly, that I have difficulty using them effectively. Look on the planetary map for Droid vendors, search for a Droid Engineer on your CTRL-P screen, or check out your galaxy trade forum to hook up with a DE.
I remember the mission you describe, it took me a couple of tries, so you'll probably want to get a little practice using your droid before you take it on again, but here's how I was able to get through it:
1. Your starting position is key. As soon as you send in your droid to attack the general, you're going to get a TEF (Temporary Enemy Flag) which makes you attackable by any other STs. So, start out in a position well away (about 75-80m) from the general and with his guardian STs on the other side of him even farther away. Call droid and group with it. You'll get the group xp bonus that way.
2. Turn on droid's auto-repair modules. (Note: Auto-repair modules use up a droids battery alot faster than normal. So check power level and recharge if neccessary.)
3. Target the general and tell your droid to attack.
4. Wait a couple of seconds for the General's bodyguards to aggro on your droid, then move in for the kill on the general.
5. Once the general is dead, break off the fight and get out of there. You don't need to kill the bodyguard STs to complete the mission. (Although if things are going well for you, you can stay and kill them just for fun.
)
6. Don't worry about abandoning your droid to the bodyguard STs. Once it gets incapped, you can store it using your datapad. (Note: When your droid gets incapped, it will lose 1 vitality point. I've had mine down to 75/100 without any change to it's other stats or performance. Using a Pet Vitality Pack made by a BioEngineer will repair your droid's vitality.)
Hope this helps!
