I'm looking for a macro that will target a specific item. Sounds easy right? just /target item. but that's not the case.
I am mining in space and i use /target asteroid to target the asteroid Chunks that break off (cannot target them with tab and they are hard to see). This hotkey works great until asteroid Bandits spawn.
Using /target asteroid will target the Bandits, not the chunks.
Using /target asteroid chunk will also target the Bandit and not the chunk.
it goes by alphabetical order and for some reason, you cannot /target firstname lastname.
Ssssooo i was wondering if anyone knew how to get past this? These asteroid bandits are the meatlumps of the sky and it's best to just ignore them instead of chasing them around (sometimes it targets bandits that are 3km away that i have to go out and kill before my hotkey works)

/tar ast will target the newly spawned asteroid bandits, no way around that.
Just kill them.

You could try it with " or ' around the object you want to tar but not sure if they implemented that in their macro language

You could make a macro to "Cycle friendly target" or just link it to a button on your joystick
