Yep. You can get +25 more on top of that from skill attachments.

For melee defense, ranged defense, dodge, block, and counterattack:
Cap from mods gained in skill boxes: +125
Cap from Skill attachments: +25 (stacks with base mod cap)
Squad Leader group bonuses and bonuses from food both stack on top of that.
No other skill has a "natural" cap (based on skill box gain), but the skills listed above are the ones that are gained from cross-profession stacking, I'm not even sure if you can get other skills above 125.

What is the melee defense cap? I have heard 125 but is this true? I have made a sweet melee/def stacking template...and im wondering if i have too much melee defense.

Yes I believe melee/ranged defense is +125, then you can take foods ontop of it. Also said the defense vs state is capped at +90, I have no clue if that's confirmed or not.

thanks for the reply...my template was at 211 melee...but now i have it at 150...cant lower it anymore without losing states :-)

All defenses are capped at 125 including block. You can get up to 150 w/ SEA.
