I have heard so many from time to time, and in so many posts tell us all what they THINK the guidelines are behind mod stacking within the game. If there is anyone out there that can provide a solid description as to whether or not stacking works, will continue to work, and the exact details about how it works this would be great.
Also things like counterattack? Does this stack across different weapon usage? For instance using a rifle when I got the mod from swordsman?
If anyone has any answers to the questions in my first paragraph, can you please also explain how you know your information to be true, based on reference and not experience.

Ok mod stacking works. HOWEVER when stacking deffences they are caped at a maximum of 125 (even though it might say more in your skills table only 125 of that mod will work.
This "Deffence Cap" was put in the game a while ago, I'll have a look for a link for a dev post for you.
As for things like Counter Attack, Dodge, Block & Deffence Accuity, they also cap at 125 & they only work with their associated weapons
Counter Attack only works when using a 2H Sword or a Carbine
Block only works when using a Riffle or a Pike
Dodge only works when using a 1H Sword or a Pistol
Deffence Accuity only works when fighting unarmed (or with a VibroKnuckler) (this one is also broken a bit & doesn't always seem to work as intended)

Cool thanks. I was curious about all of this. I thought that things like the "DODGE" once you had it, worked with any weapon. This is one of the main areas that I have the most confusion because so many people have so many different answers. I have been told that only defensive mods stack, and they stack across the board and are useful regardless of the weapon being used.
Brings me to my next question though, how do people effectively build awesome PVP templates? I hear people talk about this all the time but did not know it is as complex as it is beginning to sound.
Thanks.

Like most systems, SWG in general and combat system in particular, look simple when you don't know anything, appear to grow in complexity as you learn more about the details, and after peaking (everything seems so confusing), then become clearer again as you understand what's important and what's not.
I'm at the climax of confusion stage right now.
There, hope this cleared all the questions you can possibly have.
Seriously, though, understanding the strong points of popular templates might be a good starting point. Most combat forums have template faqs and/or threads. The only problem seems to be seperating signal from noise.
