first of all i have to say, that i haven't tried to connect to another servers chat yet. So i am not absolutly sure that it will work.
But i think you just tried to connect to the wrong chat (or one that don't exist). When you manually create a chat in swg using the macro command, you can use an adress like:
/chatRoom create swg.Corbantis.chat.CityMiragon;
If you use the User Interface to create a chat room, it is usually placed in a 'generic subnode'. To find out which your chatrooms adress is, do the following.
- Log into your Wanderhome account
- right-click on one of your chatTabs
- select joinChannel
- You'll get a tree displayed, with 'chat' as parent node i think
- click through the nodes, till you find your chatRoom ( something like chat -> public -> 998473 -> Val )
Now you have the relational path from Wanderhome server ( chat.public.998473.Val ). For the absolute path from any server you need to put swg.<ServerName> in front. The command will be:
/chatRoom join swg.Wanderhome.chat.public.998473.Val;
Make sure that the chatRoom is public or your character have been invited to the chatRoom. According to the syntax the moderator should be able to invite you to a private chatroom by typing:
/chatRoom invite swg.<ServerName>.<PlayerName>;
